Yeah ... Percy Harvin is as close to Jennings in age as Jennings is to Urlacher.

Both have fallen off the last couple years. Both have injury issues the last couple years. He's 5 years younger and still dealing with similar issues....

Similar issues, different reasons. The situations just aren't equivalent. Jennings' production fell off primarily because he missed time with injuries. Urlacher's game has fallen off because he simply can't do what he was once able to do anymore. Jennings' hasn't suffered the decline in overall speed and athleticism that has impacted Urlacher's game.

We're talking about the difference between a player who will be 35 this season and a player who's about to turn 30. In NFL terms, that's a BIG difference in "mileage".

Wow, put like this, it gives me even more concern for all the injuries that Jennings has dealt with in his career. He's not a young man.

Hm, I've heard a few times that part of the reason Jennings was getting more time in the slot was a loss of some of his speed that didn't allow him to function as well on the outside.

 I didn't say he hasn't lost any speed at all.

Now now, Jim, Demi didn't mention you by name :P

Id rather sign winfield back at 3m a year than sign Urlacher..
The term fan comes from FANatic or fanatical.

I hope address the MLB position in the draft. Ogletree or Te'o will do.

Ogle yes. Teo, no. Chances are he's a 2 down player.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Demi wrote: Urlacher has more years in the cover 2 then our defensive coordinator does! Not only will he contribute on the field, but the "helping the young guys" everyone loves! Perfect guy to bring in for 2-3 years while they find their future star at the position! He has all the skills Frazier is looking for in the position.

And he'd be hurting a division rival in the process.

Dansby has no experience in this system. Even with the step Urlacher lost he's better in coverage then Dansby has ever been.

Urlacher for MLB 2013!!!

I'd go for Urlacher, but I have no idea what his health is like. Anyone know this one?

He was on the Dan Patrick show earlier. Said he was completely healthy and back to working out fully for first time since before the knee injury. No pain in the hamstring anymore. No issues with the knee.

Slower #### blocky coverage liability Te'o. Or head case prison sentence waiting to happen scum bag Ogletree. No thanks! Urlacher and groom someone worth grooming not mental patients!!!

I agree Demi, I like our chances with Urlacher mentoring Cole, or another young LB in the draft.

Without reading through all of these comments--I think we are done with free agency. All this talk about Urlacher (no, thanks) and Winfield (I wish) is interesting and all--but the last time I knew, we were about $6 million under the salary cap. I wouldn't expect any more "big-name" guys coming to the Vikes other than through the draft.

Done with FA? Nope! You guys! LB problem solved!

Marvin Mitchell - LB - Vikings

Vikings re-signed LB Marvin Mitchell.

A reserve linebacker and special teamer, Mitchell started one game in 2012, but played only 46 snaps on defense. He'll serve in a similar role in 2013.
