I know Harvin has a lot of raw ability and brings a lot to the team, but in terms of actual production, Hartline has either been pretty close to Harvin or better than him.

Can one of you guys who was anti-Hartline expand on it a little? I don't keep up with him in particular so I don't have a lot of info on him.
I think the main thing is he doesn't have much upside, or what you see is what you get. That 1,083 yard season might be his ceiling, etc. He's also not very flashy at all, think of a bigger / better version of bobby wade (if anyone remembers him) and that's essentially who heartline is. Personally I think we could really use a possession based WR who runs crisp routes, aside from Harvin I'm not sure anyone on the team fits that role.

I'm not saying break the bank for Hartline but if Wallace gets some where around 60 million and heartline 20 million, i'd take heartline.
In that case neither. We don't need another average receiver. We've signed how many Hartline's since Childress showed up? Not even worth signing the guy. Either go after a big name proven commodity, or sign another league minimum guy who hasn't been given many snaps. None of this nonsense again!

All in fun... I have a better chance of having some 'fun' with Kate Upton.

Nothing wrong with Hartline if we miss out on the big 3.
Just like there was nothing wrong with Bernard Berrian, Micheal Jenkins, Jerome Simpson, Bobby Wade. etc etc. All guys who had one solid year as a de facto starter on a terrible team. No thanks!!!

In RE: Hartline.

Enough with the mediocrity. You guys know damn well this team would ease off the gas trying to get another guy if we signed him.

It could be a situation where he goes back to Atlanta at a cheaper price. I think I'd take him though if the price was right.

Greg Jennings - WR - Packers
The Packers have decided against franchise tagging Greg Jennings, paving the way for Jennings to test free agency.

This significantly increases the odds Jermichael Finley returns to Green Bay. The Packers briefly considered tagging Jennings, but doing so would have cost nearly $11 million and he's not worth that much money entering his age-30 season. Jennings' likeliest suitors in free agency appear to be the Dolphins and Vikings, although more teams will enter the bidding. We anticipate Jennings receiving significantly less than the $12 million annually he's purportedly seeking.

Dwayne Bowe has signed with the Chiefs according to PFT

I think Wallace and Cruz are the best FA options out there. I hope we at least talk to them. It may not be glamorous to play with Ponder but at least you're on a decent team with the MVP and you play in a dome for a year. The TCF thing could suck for us

Cruz isn't going anywhere. He'll be tenured at the first-round level and we won't be pursuing.

Oh well, not like we would have signed him anyway. We won't be signing Mike Wallace or Greg Jennings either.

At least we can look forward to Brandon Gibson!

Hah - so true.

My buddy brought up a good point: Since Ponder is the deep bomb kind of guy and excels with the short passing game...why not go for someone like Amendola or Welker? Pair Welker and Harvin and it's just as good as having a "deep threat".

Mike Wallace but If we sign him, chances are slim we re-sign Harvin.

I agree. IMO, if they add a name like that it could indicate that Spielman and Co. think the Harvin situation is not salvageable.

His contract has been confirmed at 5 years 56 million. I think those are going to be numbers that are going to be very similar to what Harvin is going to be looking for.
