Come on, Brian, everyone knows that... I will just let someone else answer so that I don't hog all of the posts.
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." ‪#‎SKOL2018

I'm guessing he'll play a bigger role in the Vikes future plans since Allen and Robison are both in their 30s now. He's definitely an exciting player to watch. I hope he becomes a star on the Vikings defensive line.
I can certainly see that being the case, a continued gradual progression. I have heard rumours of Allen possibly being placed on the trade block along with Percy and although I agree that he is ageing, I still feel he's far too productive to do away with.

I guess there's no room for sentiment in football but he has such personality and passion for the game, a true cult hero. Obviously with Robision and Jared being such high motor guys, it's likely that they'll burn out quicker but I still foresee a couple of strong seasons out of both players.

I suspect the Vikings agree so despite his cap hit, I doubt he's going anywhere this year. The reports I've read say the Vikings have prepared themselves to deal with Allen's massive salary this season and since he's a star player, their sack leader and a leader on the defense, I doubt they would trade him. His salary might make a trade too difficult anyway.

If I'm not mistaken, Griffin, Robison and Allen are all in the final year of their contracts. Griffin's younger than the other two so barring some unforeseen circumstance, he seems the most likely to be back with the Vikings in 2014. Allen and Robison are both in their 30s so it will be interesting to see how the Vikings deal with them. Enjoy watching the 3 of them this year. It might be the last time we'll see all 3 together on the Vikes d-line. :(

Interesting question. But it depends -- do you mean an African Swallow, or a European Swallow?
Actually, there are 83 species in 19 genera of the swallow, enjoying a cosmopolitan distribution across the world and breeding on ALL continents except Antarctica.
That having been written: GENERALLY, swallows forage at approximately 30-40km/h and are quite capable of reaching 50-65 km/h when traveling. Of course if they are laden with a twig or a worm that would drastically effect their speed. Another observation, of mine , would be if there is a GULP or a CHUG involved in the speed equation then the SWALLOW would/should be much faster.
Do not mistake KINDNESS for WEAKNESS!

Definitely, after making such great strides last season and showing promise through versatility, Everson's going nowhere. I think he'll be a productive player for years to come, a possible replacement for Jared a ways down the road. It'll be a tough decision, the prospect of either player leaving is gut wrenching as I enjoy watching their relentless performances. However, you can't overlook either business aspect or long term aspirations, therefore letting someone go wouldn't surprise me. After such a successful tenure and the fact that we paid a fair price in draft picks for Jared, couple with his popularity, I think Robison would be the more likely cut.

If that's the case, perhaps the Vikes will be tempted to a take a late round flyer at a DE in the draft, with the objective to nurture them into becoming Everson's partner eventually?

Perhaps but he might also be less expensive to keep.

It wouldn't surprise me if they took a DE as early as R4 if a player they really like is available. They could even take one earlier, although that would be a surprise since they have some pretty significant needs at other positions.

Good point!

Admittedly, though after reading various articles on Vikings.com, Wob strongly feels that it'll be a case of selecting the best player available for the most part, due to the fact that you can't afford to miss out on a potential All Star player because of pressing needs.

Of course though, in terms of addressing particular positions, LB and WR springs to mind.

They certainly do and somehow, teams usually tend to find that the best player available fills a need on their roster. :)

I think it's a safe bet that the Vikings will come out of the draft with at least one new player at each of those two positions.

Precisely, room has to be made for pure talent. I guess it's just crucial to get the performers out on the gridiron, regardless of certain glaring positional holes.

Especially if we don't make any acquisitions in Free Agency, hopefully the roster will be looking much more in depth come pre-season.
