LOL now ive heard t all. Excuses for a TE that said he was fine when the Vikes put him in the lineup. He sucks, or didnt fit our offensive, so he made almost a million a catch, and yet theres a need to make excuses for his play. Amazing. Wonder what some of you think about the Walker deal.

I would like to see the WR's we have play a whole season and be productive. I believe that Simpson can be an assest and Harvin staying is important. Wright, Childs, and Jenks round out a decent corps if they have another year to mesh with Ponder and stay healthy? Seems we have better luck going with defense in FA. Do we really have to go through FA for a WR? Have to pay top dollar most of the time when you do. I'm not against it though. Whatever makes the team better.

I don't think we have to go through FA but the WR corp definitely needs an upgrade. Personally I'd like to see them draft a WR in the first or second and go after a 2nd tier guy in free agency.

As much as I try and stay optimistic, this is one issue/injury I'm very skeptical/pessimistic with. It's not a simple ACL. While I'm hoping for the best, I'd be surprised if he ever took the field as much more than a #4 receiver at this point (if he even suits up). I don't expect him to play a down in 2013.

Let's hope AD is giving him a daily blood transfusion.

A torn Patellar Tendon injury can be healed and fully recovered from. Obviously it will take time, but at this point, Childs has time. He has also had this injury before so he knows what it will take to recover.

The big question is Durability. Can his body stand up to wear and tear of the NFL? We will never know that until he takes the field. I think we'll see him again, whether he plays a down in an actual game remains to be seen.

this isn't a matter of excusing Carlson. I don't think you'll find a single person who's even remotely content with his production last year. He didn't even come close to living up to the expectations expected from someone getting the money he is.

However, realistically we have to become content with the fact that no matter how much you may or may not want him gone, he will VERY likely be on the 2013 roster. If we were to release him this off season, we be penalized a 3 million dollar cap hit, and with cap space tight as it is and a number of players to resign this year and next, as well as a number of holes to fill, it's just not a realistic option.

The way I look at it is this. Right now we have a solid starting TE in Rudolph, and promising young backup TE in Ellison. Fortunately, they both are relatively cheap. So while Carlson may be under achieving for his contract, the overall money we have invested in TEs is not hurting our team, because we also have a player overachieving for his contract. So for now, we'll have to hope for the best and expect the worse from Carlson, and just be glad that he's not in a position where we are reliant on him to fill a major hole on the offense.

It's been so long since Moss was drafted but what were people saying about him then? Great potential with attitude problem? I'd love to get a stud #1 WR in the draft but is there anyone with any hype this year?

You are right. The deal was so bad, it only make sense to keep him another year. My point is Spielman made a HORRIVLE deal on a TE, a posistion we didnt really need filled, and could have made through the draft. And yet some people just find it so hard to put blame on the Vikings admin when they should. Yet they shower praise on someone like Fraizer, where I only see improvement, not CoTY improvement. To get this team to a place where teams like the Raven, Pats, etc are at, we need better coaches and choices from the top. I would like someone to point out another team that made a deal like we made with Carlson (and the lack of results). Its just always something with this this team, and alot of it has to do with managment.
