Free agent DT Brian Price visited with the Vikings this week.
It's Price's second visit with the Vikings this season. The 2010 second-round pick of the Bucs has been on the street since the Bears waived him at final cuts this season.

Bryan Price
http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/bri ... ?id=496845
Price is a solid pass rusher that can bull rush with good power or counter with a variety of pass rush moves.
Price is a good football player that lacks typical height for the position but should fit well in 4-3 schemes and is
regarded as a top five defensive tackle in the 2010 draft.
Price has struggled with some emotional issues since his sister died after he was drafted in 2010.
Kinda sounds like John Randle a little undersized and powerful, quick

Drafted 35th overall wow this could be a huge pick up for us if it works out

Antoine Winfield Fractures Hand
Antoine Winfield suffered a fracture in one of his hands in Sunday's win over Houston but is expected to play in the Minnesota Vikings' critical finale against Green Bay.
The cornerback underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed the fracture, coach Leslie Frazier said. He finished Sunday's game and should play against the Packers with the hand in a soft cast, Frazier said.
"We don't expect it to be a problem in this ball game," Frazier said. "He'll have it wrapped up, but he will be able to play, just like he finished the game (Sunday)."

I think the Vikings will definitely need both Winfield and Cook on the field. I hope Winfield's fractured hand won't hinder his ability to wrap up tackles.

Tom Pelissero on TwitterSounds like #Vikings are optimistic Antoine Winfield can play in playoff game, but need to get swelling out, have to play with larger cast.

Good news but how long can he stay in this game and if they win, how long can Winfield keep going?dead_poet wrote:![]()

Are you talking about the hand? I'm sure if it's braced/cast to prevent or mitigate injury he can keep going as long as he's effective. Thankfully it's not a knee or ankle or something.Cliff wrote: Good news but how long can he stay in this game and if they win, how long can Winfield keep going?
On a side note, it's a very good thing the Vikings didn't shut down Chris Cook. That little "Destined to Return" IR thing has already come in handy.

Yeah, it's good that it's not a knee or ankle but he went out mid-2nd yesterday didn't he?dead_poet wrote: Are you talking about the hand? I'm sure if it's braced/cast to prevent or mitigate injury he can keep going as long as he's effective. Thankfully it's not a knee or ankle or something.
I just imagine trying to break your fall or shed a block with a broken hand ... it must be quite painful for him.
Yeah, it's nice to at least have Cook out there. On a side note, it's a very good thing the Vikings didn't shut down Chris Cook. That little "Destined to Return" IR thing has already come in handy.

Looks like Woodson will be there for this game, nelson may not though.
Woodson cleared to play. Ominous tone on Nelson. McCarthy said we'll have more info tomorrow when injury report comes out. Same with Worhty.

Is PH our for the entire playoffs? Was it due to an injury caused by football? Why isnt he recovering with the team?
Re: **2012 practice/presser notes**
Harvin was put on IR due to an ankle injury. He is not available for the playoffs. He and the team made a decision that he could rehab in Florida. Now, there is some of the usual hand-wringing about the relationship between Harvin and the team, but that seems to be pure speculation. Maybe more info than you needed, but hope it helps.PurpleKoolaid wrote:Is PH our for the entire playoffs? Was it due to an injury caused by football? Why isnt he recovering with the team?

Mike Priefer said Adrian Peterson asks him constantly to play special teams. There "absolutely" would be a scenario he'd return a kick.
AP had folks laughing when discussing lobbying efforts to be on FG block. "Coming off the edge. Just would take one block & they'll see."
Tom Pelissero & Jeff Anderson on TwitterAdrian Peterson was jovial at the podium today: "I could play for 12 more games if I had to. Seriously."

Injury report:
http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_ ... ury-reportGreen Bay Packers: Receiver Jordy Nelson (knee) participated in a portion of practice, putting him on track to be available Saturday night. Running back James Starks (knee) was also a limited participant, but it sounds as if DuJuan Harris and Ryan Grant are ahead of him in line for carries. Defensive end Jerel Worthy has been lost for the remainder of the playoffs because of a knee injury. Worthy and receiver Jarrett Boykin (ankle) were the only players who didn't practice at all Wednesday. Receiver Randall Cobb (ankle) and tight end Jermichael Finley (quadriceps) were limited but are expected to play.
Minnesota Vikings: As has been the practice for the past few weeks, tailback Adrian Peterson (abdomen) again did not practice. He will start Saturday night, however. Cornerback Antoine Winfield (hand) has pledged to play but will face significant pain. Linebacker Tyrone McKenzie (shoulder) did not practice and probably won't play. Quarterback Christian Ponder is dealing with a sore elbow, injured on a blitz by safety Morgan Burnett, but has downplayed the injury.

Cause for concern.
Encouraging.

Antoine Winfield did things on side with soft cast and feels better. Gaining confidence. Frazier says he's encouraged. #Vikings
Tom Pelissero on TwitterTyrone McKenzie unlikely to play. Adrian Peterson looked good. Harrison Smith, Brian Robison made it through practice too.
