Ponder will start. But I bet we draft a QB in the 3rd-4th round and go after a vet in FA. 1rst and 2nd round drafts will be WRs. We kinda have to

I think we still have to see how he does against GB and (hopefully) in the playoffs before making more solid judgements. Hopefully he continues and improves upon his playing the last 3 games

Every week I say the same thing, thinking he is due for a breakout game, but he always seems to then dissapoint me. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. However, I am in the club of ponder being the starter next year. This is only his first full year as a starter, so I want to see if he can fix some of the mistakes he has made this year. If he perfoms like he has this year next year, I say we make a change. I believe management will be making the right decision if they keep him as starter. Look at Drew Brees' stats from his first couple years in the NFL, he was just as bad as Ponder. Not saying Ponder will ever be a Drew Brees', but one can hope!

That's a great question. I'm inclined to shop Webb to see if we can get anything from him. Especially if the coaching staff thinks anything of MBT.

I'd let them compete in camp or bring in two QBs and cut both Webb and MBT.

In the end, I think keeping the better pocket passer is the way to go.

Both. Sign someone and draft someone.

If there was any doubt, it ended today. Christian Ponder will be the rightful starter in 2013 with no challenger. Well deserved.

He did show some really good stuff today. However, next week he could show something completely different. That's Ponder's problem right now. He is not consistant IMHO. I still would like us to get another QB just in case. I am still not convinced he is the answer. I want him to be, I really do. I would like us to be able to focus on other needs. But I am not posative we can.

No matter how we do next next, Ponder will be our QB next year. I hope we get better linemen to give him a little more time. Esp. at guard. And I hope we dump both Webb and MBT. Lets develope some uoung telent incase we have to play a backup QB.

Eh, I always like competition. Ponder played well but his body of work leaves much to be desired. I think he'll be the starter next year too but I still think they need to bring in someone. Heck, the Redskins gave away the farm for RG3 and STILL drafted a QB.

Ponder's basic stats over the Vikings 4 game winning streak:
60-99 for 630 yards,
4 TDs, 1 INT, 5 sacks
Rushing: 17 carries, 70 yards, 1 TD, 1 lost fumble

Now that the regular season is over, we can also look at Ponder's passing numbers for the year:

300-486 for 2935 yards
62.1% completion percentage
18 TDs, 12 INTs, 32 sacks
Passer rating: 81.2

Completion percentage, yards per game, TD/INT ratio and passer rating are all improvements over his rookie season.

I think he's improving but there are obviously questions about his "ceiling".

If Ponder continues to improve each season then I don't see any reason to be upset with him as the starter. It's been somewhat of a roller coaster season with him, but he's shown flashes of being a solid QB in the league.

The vikings have way too many other needs to fill that I'm fine with at least building the rest of the team around him and AP for the next year or two (through the draft or free agency). There aren't too many positions on this team that don't need any added depth. But looking back on last years draft, I'm really happy with how this rookie class turned out.

Hell, maybe Ponder has a clutch gene we never knew about after these playoffs are over with.

Vikings would have at least 10 wins with a decent qb.

Look at the standings and look at who we just beat.

Webb is it at backup. Money and the fact he's earned his way even though he was pretty much roadblocked along his way.
