No, Ponder threw for five yards... he could have targeted Rudolph at the sideline past the 1st down marker.

I don't even know what this team thinks about Third and Long. Like, I don't. Do they have reliable plays that can go about 10 to 12 yards or do they have absolutely nothing and go DIEHHAIHFDH 4 YARD PASS INTO 4 DEFENDERS UGHGUHGHH.

Why take a risk on a play that has a low room for error? This team doesn't rely on the passing game to carry them, they rely on the running game and defense.

Coaches are definitely terrified of our inept QB and our inept receivers. No interceptions is their thought

This is setting up for a big 4th for AD. It may not look that way right now, but two things are happening that could lead to a huge 4th:

- Texans offense can't stay on the field
- Texans defense is selling out to stop the Vikes. They are going to get tired provided the Vikings defense can keep getting stops on the Texans

Vikes have to account for the blitzing DBs on those interior runs. If they can do that, AD is primed for some big gainers.

Throw it high to the sideline... low risk of INT... a decent chance for Rudolph to make a first down catch.

I am so tired of the Ponder boo birds... please understand that there are others that practice common sense, who realize that not every quarterback coming out of college is ready to play like a RG3 or a Russell Wilson. Unfortunately we live in a world where people are addicted to instant gratification. However, we need to extend to Ponder a little benefit of the doubt and a little grace in understanding that he is still developing as a QB. This is only his second year.. so boo birds, please lighten up in light of real world concerns football is only a game. And remember that Ponder has shown improvement and he continues to grow and mature as a QB.
