AD may get held to under 100 yards because A) Texans D is really good and B) we fall behind early and try to pass our way to a win. The D or ST score at least 1 TD.
Unfortunately, b) might be a likely scenario.

I don't think the Texans' defense is significantly more able to stop AD than, say, Chicago. And we all know he can run on anybody. But he might not get the touches he needs for a big game because we fall behind early.

It sucks, but I don't like our chances in this game. Please prove me wrong, Vikes!

Tennessee, Chicago, Detroit, New England, and the Colts have all rushed for more than 100 yards as a team against the Texans

The number 1 rushing D in the league is Tampa, the Vikings ran for 140 against Tampa. The next best rushing defense the Vikings faced was the 49ers; they put up 146 against the 49ers. Both of those teams rushing defenses are statistically better than Houstons. There's no reason the Vikings, AD in particular can't put up 140-150 on Houston

1 special teams touchdown and 2 other turnovers will lead to a Vikings win. Adrian will run for 165.
Blair wal$h in the clutch.

Vikings 27
Texans 24

All it takes is that 1 rush for over 50 yards. With that and his normal 5 yards a carry, he will top 150.

Houston might have the 5th ranked defense, but they have the least total rushing attempts by the opposing team in the NFL, so take that as you will.

This is pretty interesting.

Houston's defense is very similar to St. Louis'. They give up 4.1 yards per carry (4.2 for St. Louis) and are stingy in yards per attempt passing at 5.8 (the Rams are 5.9).

Where we could run into trouble is when Houston is on offense. They're a very solid 6th in total yards, averaging 387 yards per game. They're 8th in yards per attempt passing and 15th in rushing YPA. They definitely place importance on the running game -- first in the league in total attempts at 33.7 per game. Houston may have the most balanced attack in the league. They've thrown 485 passes and run the ball 472 times (50.6% pass, 49.4% run) with 22 TD passing and 18 rushing. Overall, they have 3,427 yards passing with 1,988 rushing. Extremely solid on this side of the ball.

Another advantage for the Texans is in the turnover ratio. They're +15 (28 TOs on defense, only 13 on offense). They don't typically beat themselves. The Vikings are at +3.

Robison's condition is also uncertain and could be a game time decision and not having him could be a bad loss. However Everson Griffin did fine filling in for Robison so maybe not? Griffen had an interception if I recall and some nice tackles. Vikings will need to put heavy pressure on Schaub.

I have a feeling the Texans throw Arian Foster at the defense every way they can. This defense still has a knack for allowing RBs to brutalize them. If the Texans get a couple of quick scores, it's all over...

Houston 31
Vikings 17

Texans, 28-14.
I just don't see any more than two scores against Houston. I also didn't have a good feeling going in against the Rams ... So what do I know.
I keep waiting for a down game from AD ... And that hasn't happened. If we avoid stupid mistakes in the first half, then Peterson will be a factor and we'll keep it close going into the third quarter.

Believe it or not that's my biggest fear about the Texans. I'm glad the Vikings won last week. Absolutely thrilled! But they're still 2-5 on the road and though their TO ratio is +3, they can and have beat themselves at times this year. The Texans D has a habit of causing opposing offenses to implode. A couple forced turnovers by the Texans D could turn the game into "catch-up ball" for the Vikings, which is not a winning scenario for this team. This is especially true if AD's carries are limited and the Vikings resort to their crippled passing attack.

Retired RB great Chuck Foreman recently said that Adrian Peterson misses Percy Harvin and would be doing even better if Percy was on the field with him. I agree. This is one game where I really wish the Vikes had both AD and Harvin. They're going to need all the playmakers they can get. Right now, aside from Peterson, they don't have any on their offense.

I think the Texans take this one. But I'm hoping that I'm wrong. Surprise us, Vikings!

It will definitely take a very clean game for the Vikings to win this one. They have to win the turnover battle again, avoid stupid penalties and mistakes and fundamentally sound football.

I expect Watt to have a big game against the interior of the Vikes line. :(

I don't feel great about this one.

We don't seem to match up well against the Texans, IMO. But I thought the same thing of the 49ers and we brought it that week. I predict a loss, something like 31-24.
