I would prefer Hunter. He is a big guy. Has great hands (from the 4 games I watched this year and the multiple games I saw last year). He will go up and fight for jump balls. He will be a big target in the red zone. I think he will be able to stretch the field due to his ability to out jump defenders.
In regards to the film that you watched, did it also show their drops or was it just catches? A lot of these videos only show the good and not the bad. Hence my problem with them.
Troy Willamson was fast enough in college that a lot of times he would be so far open that there was no pressure. When he got to the pros he was still fast but not as open. He still had a lot of drops in college, if you look at his stat line I'm not sure what the staff saw in him to draft him.
The videos showed both. Seemed to me like an unbiased documentation, but I appreciate your observations as someone that was able to watch actual games. There is no substitute for that kind of evaluation--seeing the player work in context. For example, does he make big plays when the team really needs it? etc. Those types of things can get lost in highlight reels.
Hunter was the one that caught my eye as possibly a special talent worthy of a first round pick. I think w/ Williamson the Vikes were just so desperate that they were unable to see things clearly. I wonder if it made us gun-shy w/ Blackmon? Probably not, our OL needs made Kalil an obvious choice. I hope they prioritize WR but w/o putting all their eggs in one basket. Get a FA, draft a couple of guys in the first 4 rounds.
I am curious as to why we cut Tori Gurley from the practice squad. Dude had potential. I say we should sign him to the active roster or at least to the practice squad again.
A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

There's something we're clearly not seeing. He's been signed and dropped from the: Packers, Vikings, Raiders, Bucs and Chargers. Practice squads. In all probability, he's not very good.

Larry Fitzgerald said Monday he wants "to continue to play" for the Cardinals.
The woeful quarterback play in Arizona has lead many to suggest Fitzgerald should demand a trade. That's not his style. Fitzgerald has never publicly criticized his quarterbacks even though they've targeted him 134 times this year and completed just 57 of those balls. Over the last four weeks, Fitz has totaled six catches for 37 yards and no touchdowns. He signed an eight-year, $120 million contract in 2011. Source: Associated Press
Would love him on this team, but that contract is large and would require 1st or 2nd(if not both) to get him from the Cardinals and we still have to pay him and find a QB that will get him the ball...
Well, take the money we would have had to pay to keep Harvin (even homers like Bercich are saying they doubt he'll be back even next year, much less re-sign with the team) and include him in the deal. can you imagine the position if Harvin decides to sit out and push for a trade?
Why wouldnt Harvin be back next year? In 2 years maybe. Would be the stupidest thing this team has ever done, and they have done some stupid things. IS he supposed to be upset at something? He has to learn to take hits a little less hard or hes not going to last long. Hes no AD, but then no one in the NFL is.

Next season is the final year of his rookie deal. And his base salary next year is 1.5 million. He was pushing for a new deal this last offseason.
Heck he's not even on the sideline during games now. And isn't being made available to the media.
Ahh I agree. If the Vikes stick with Ponder next year, paying what it would take to get Fitz here isnt worth it. But if we happened to get an average QB it would. He is worth a big move. And a class act. But its not happening either way.

Of course I don't mean this. Just trying to prove a point that a superstar WR does not make a poor QB better. I know there are other reasons Larry is ranked #40 this year, but you have to believe QB play is a huge part of it.
Fitz was there before any of the cardinals QB's were. How do you know they wouldn't be worse without him?
This talking about Fitz is exciting but I think we are all living in dreamland here. It's almost as bad as talking about the possibility of getting Drew Brees. Lets try to keep the talk realistic shall we?

all the rest are trash and would leave by the curb or in a dumpster somewhere...
I think everyone is beginning to think that way. The WRs have three more games to show they can get open and/or catch a pass.
On that note, here's Dan Wiederer's take from the Strib:
But I can tell you that the biggest offseason priority has to be overhauling the WR corps. Of the five who suited up Sunday, only Jarius Wright is certain to be back in 2013. So the drat and free agency need to be used to upgrade that position in the worst way.
