Re: **2012 practice/presser notes**
I'm more concerned about the risks of Harvin's Contract. Frasier's press conference seemed to indicate there was moe going on than just his ankle. Not good.

isnt percy under contract for next season as well? plus, him sitting out would do nothing but hurt his contact hopes
Re: **2012 practice/presser notes**
I wonder if he further aggravated it by going back out on the field. I was especially surprised to see him returning kicks after he went down.

I must have missed that announcement.Eli wrote:They probably already have a good idea of what he's got, and if it hasn't been enough to beat out receiving titans like Jarius Wright and Stephen Burton, then no thanks.
They could probably raid a few other teams' practice squads and find better talent than they have, but then the problem would be insufficient practice time with Ponder and having to learn the playbook for the final three games of the season. The Vikings front office and coaching staff have given up on this season, so it's very unlikely that they'll do anything dramatic.

Apparently he was a little cryptic, which leads to speculation. Summary below. And video discussing it here: http://www.1500espn.com/videos/percy_ha ... th_vikingsMothman wrote: What did he say?
Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings
ESPN 1500 Twin Cities believes "there could be another issue at play" with the Vikings' handling of Percy Harvin's ankle injury.
Beat writer Tom Pelissero doesn't venture a guess as to what the issue might be, but does point to Harvin's bizarre offseason unhappiness. Pelissero also believes Harvin could be contemplating surgery after it was revealed Tuesday that his high-ankle sprain involved a complete ligament tear. Harvin is the kind of player you never say never with, but his 2012 outlook is getting less encouraging by the day.

Must have missed the last two games, too.Mothman wrote:I must have missed that announcement.

Thanks. Armed with that info, I just checked Pelissero's story about Harvin and it definitely sounds like he's speculating and fishing for a story.dead_poet wrote:Apparently he was a little cryptic, which leads to speculation. No, in fact I attended one of them.Eli wrote: Must have missed the last two games, too.

What am I supposed to conclude here, that not pulling Ponder means they've given up on the season? Something else? Sorry, I don't buy it. I disagreed with the decision to leave Ponder in for the entire second half against Green Bay but the idea that the last two games indicate Frazier and the front office have given up on the season is laughable. I don't believe for a second that Frazier has that kind of quitting attitude in him.
Re: **2012 practice/presser notes**
Burton is a dud. I agree there. Actually, I feel the same way about Jenkins and Simpson at this point. Aromashodu isn't far behind.Eli wrote:They probably already have a good idea of what he's got, and if it hasn't been enough to beat out receiving titans like Jarius Wright and Stephen Burton, then no thanks.

I disagree about Jarius Wright. I also disagree with the Vikings or anyone else casting him as Percy Harvin-lite. That's not Wright's game. It never was. Not for the Razorbacks and it won't be for the Vikings. The kid is a rookie and needs to learn but his potential and skill-set far transcends the other receivers, aside from Harvin.

Percy Harvin's 2012 season started with so much promise. The Minnesota Vikings used him more than ever before and he was one of the most valuable offensive players in the league for the first half of the season.
Harvin's season now ends in injury. The Vikings placed Harvin on injured reserve Wednesday with an ankle injury that never recovered. Reports suggested that Harvin suffered a ligament tear.

Ok I'll say it....have we seen the last of Harvin in a Vikings jersey? Cripes I hope not
Re: **2012 practice/presser notes**
I don't think so. We have the cap room to keep him around and I would assume he's happier with his increased role in the offense, I don't think we could have used him anymore than we did.HornedMessiah wrote:Ok I'll say it....have we seen the last of Harvin in a Vikings jersey? Cripes I hope not

He's under contract for another season so I doubt it. It's a drag to hear that they placed him on IR though...
