Re: With the first round pick the Vikings take
I think if there was any year a good QB could drop to the 3rd round, this would be the year. The only teams that are really hurting for QB's are Kansas City and Arizona. There are teams that COULD draft a QB early like Buffalo, the Jets or Jacksonville, but that's not really a guarantee. If someone like Landry Jones drops to the 3rd round, I think the Vikings could pick him up and let him compete with Ponder. That way you could address a WR and LB/DL/OG in the 1st and second rounds, pick up a QB in the 3rd and draft for depth the rest of the draft.

I watched him play today. Not very impressed. He had happy feet like Ponder. He actually looked pretty similar in several ways. He appeared decent, but not exceptional.MrPurplenGold wrote:I think if there was any year a good QB could drop to the 3rd round, this would be the year. I am no expert in predicting which university level QBs will make elite pros, however, so if you see concrete reasons why you think Jones will possibly be a top rate pro QB I'd be all ears.
