Both of these will be huge for the Pack.

I wonder what this team's record on the road outdoors is in the past 10 years or so is? Has to be pure catastrophe. I can't say anything less than a 2 touchdown loss.

Seems like we are everyone rebound game. Im guessing it is going to be ugly. GB 34 Vikes 21 but the game will not be that close. We will not stop the packers when we need to.

Well I can tell you. Since 2002.

On the road including 2012 30/55 for a .353.

On the road outside. 14/46 for a .233.

Of those 30 wins, 12 have been against division opponents.

I predicted an 18 point loss against the Bears. I wasn't figuring on the two blocked FG's, so I missed high at 31-13.

I think the Vikes take this one. I think the Pack comes in overconfident (hopefully, they'll do a few more commercials between now and the game) against a team that was blown out the week before, and the Vikes surprise 27-24.

Packers FG kicker has an incredibly bad case of the yips. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of 4th down attempts by them (resulting in sacks by us).

Just a feeling I have. Unfortunately, they hardly ever pan out...

VikingLord wrote:No way the Vikes go into Green Bay with the same gameplan as today. I'll think they'll marginalize Ponder out of the gate and go run-heavy with AD, letting the offensive line open holes which they seem somewhat competent at doing. Run-pass ratio is likely to be higher than 60-40 (could be as high as 75-25 in the 1st quarter). This would keep Rodgers and the Packer offense off the field and give the Vikings a chance to keep their defense somewhat rested. Most importantly, it keeps Ponder from hurting the drives. They will make it or not based on AD and maybe Harvin if he's back.
I think you are 100% right. It's just like we are right back to where we were with Chilly and Tjoke and protecting the team from Jackson and using AD.

For some reason I feel a little bit better about the games the Vikings supposedly have no chance in. Like the 49ers game.

Games that we should win or it "should be close" are the ones that scare me.

That said, I still think we'll lose this one. Just not as bad as people think.

31-24 Packers.

That was 1 part me being a preposterous homer and sketching out the very best case scenario for a blowout win, and me having zero DST talent for my last fantasy football and trying to hype myself up that it wasn't going to be a gutting.

Logic should have said that our team has been terrible on the road for almost my entire young life and has only won 1 time in Soldier Field in nearly 15 years.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but the Vikings are 4-0 when Peterson has 20+ carries and 2-5 when he has less than 20 carries.

Vikes 24-21 if Musgrave gives AP the ball.
Packers 28-13 if Musgrave gives CP the ball.

I'm not sure winning is that simple but I'm all for giving Peterson the ball 20+ times to find out! :)

At the very least, it's an interesting stat so thanks for sharing it.

I think GB wins this one by at least a TD. I'm viewing it the same way PP columnist Tom Powers viewed last week's game (in retrospect, of course): GB is the better team. I don't think they're unbeatable and I'm not ruling out an upset win by the Vikings. I'll be listening to the game and hoping for just that on Sunday. However, the Vikes aren't a good road team and I think that will bite them again this week against a more talented opponent.

Vikes 27 Pack 24 IF we replaced musgrave with a monkey that AD could bribe with bananas for 25+ carries.

With musgrave instead of the monkey Vikes 16 - pack 31

My friend is so adamant that Green Bay is going to lose this game (he is a HUGE Packers fan) that he texted me congratualting me on the Vikings victory tomorrow!

Needless to say, we won't win tomorrow. The only way we do win is if Rodgers plays absolutely awful.

I'm looking at it the same way, Jim. The Vikings are a different (and worse) team on the road, plus the simply aren't as good as the Packers.

I think there is a better chance of the Packers playing poorly and losing the game than the Vikings outplaying them and winning it. IOW, the Pack needs to make a lot of mistakes and commit turnovers for the game to go the Vikings way. I don't think that will happen.
