The Vikings need to sort out their problems on the defensive line and linebackers. They don't have the speed to contain fast runners anymore. They haven't really addressed any of those positions since they traded for Jared Allen. Late round picks don't count...those are just "hey, we like this guy, lets see if he can push a more highly paid and underperforming veteran out so we can clear some cap room". Which is what they've been doing for about 4 years now with their defensive line and linebackers. They could also use one more defensive back.
As you saw today, when the Vikings defense is rolling, Ponder does just fine. He's not losing games 20-6 very often here. THAT would mean a new quarterback for sure. He's putting up enough offense to win most of the time. The defense, however, has some problems.

Yeah, if only they'd suck so hard that all the fans would stop posting here, so hard that they could draft first retroactively somehow, then everything would be so much better.
Luck is the type of quarterback that doesn't come around every year. Indy fans had to really get used to being stomped all over by an organization that literally wanted to force their fans to pay for tickets for games that were not even remotely entertaining to get that guy.

I agree, I would also like to see them get a better cover corner. But I think DL and WR are the two biggest needs for the team now.

Orton has always played pretty good and never really had a chance to prove himself.
He had a pretty good chance in Denver. He started 33 games for them in approximately 2.5 seasons and overall and he put up pretty good numbers but the Broncos didn't think he was their answer at QB.
