Re: Stadium thread
That was a good read, thanks for the link. The clock is ticking on the Vikings time in Minny Im afraid. I just dont see anyway the state agrees to pay for any of it, and I support that stance by the state, actually. If Wilfs was serious about not signing another lease in the MetroDome without a stadium deal, Id say the Vikings are a few games away from being sold and/or relocated.
Re: Stadium thread
I was kinda wondering/hoping the same thing. While I know most NFL stadiums are much better then the Dome, I always had fun there. But i dont think its a money maker.80 PurplePride 84 wrote:I usually not optimistic about anything. But I think the State will cave at the last possible second. I'm talking about a few days before the lease expires.
Until then they'll probably just play hardball trying to either A) get Wilf to throw up more money or B) come up with a plan to build at the Metrodome site or C) both.

#2: Vikings fire off letter criticizing referendum
http://www.startribune.com/politics/sta ... 63693.htmlA highly-anticipated report on building a new Minnesota Vikings stadium in Arden Hills will stop short of advising against the project, but says that a Ramsey County sales tax plan to help finance it will “compromise the county’s and the region’s ability to finance other projects.”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Council, which is releasing the report Wednesday, confirmed key elements of the report, which casts the Vikings plan to open a new stadium in Arden Hills by 2015 as having “an aggressive schedule that is unrealistic.”
The report, which totals nearly 200 pages, in addition identified $39 million in unfunded costs for the stadium.

#2: Vikings fire off letter criticizing referendum
http://www.startribune.com/politics/sta ... 61083.htmlThe Minnesota Vikings said Tuesday that a countywide referendum on a proposed half-cent sales tax hike to help build a new football stadium would delay the project by two years and add at least $110 million to the proposal.

Re: Stadium thread
From the StarTrib. this is good right? It has a better chance of passing right? Or am I confused? The proposed Minnesota Vikings stadium tax won't face a public vote in Ramsey County, but a report to be released Wednesday by the Metropolitan Council raised new questions about the viability of the Arden Hills site.
