Yup, you knew as soon as the starting pitching came back to earth, the team would start sucking again.

And I'm so glad we traded Delmon for that RP help....oh wait. ####.

Our bullpen is pathetic. You can't trust ANY of those guys. Not a damn one. But really, everyone saw this coming a mile away when we let Crain, Guerrier, and Rauch all leave last offseason. Pisses me off so much. The whole unit is in shambles, and someone should get fired because of it.

Last year I hated the moves to get Capps and Fuentes. Didn't make sense. This year it makes total sense, let's see if they go do it.

15-0???

OMFG... How embarassing. Get Mauer out of there. The team was better when Butera was behind the plate. Un freaking real/

The mini winning streak was 100% luck. This AAA roster and the $180,000,000 man hitting a blistering .206 and cant call a game anymore is sickening. Mauer got paid, now no need to play I guess. They could replace the bullpen with the last guys to leave Hooters on any given Saturday night. The thing that really pissesd me off is Guardy will get a pass due to injuries, he is bullet proof. In ANY MLB city, he would be gone, but in good ol' Minny he'll be a lifer. What a joke.

Do other MLB cities run commercials with their team's head coach? It seems like Gardy is everywhere, selling licorice and potato chips on the radio, doing TV commercials for FoxSports North...have you seen the new one where him and Tom Kelly have long hair? I'm sure coaches in other cities do it too, but it just seems like Gardy soaks up as much of that stuff as he can. Really awkward considering how the team is doing...

The whole Mauer situation and him possibly playing at 1st...his default comment for the whole situation is, "They paid me to play catcher" and I just have to laugh. I don't get how Mauer can act like a #### and say he only wants to play catcher, meanwhile Cuddyer will play anywhere you tell him to with no complaints.

Mauer isn't a leader and it's looking like he's not a team player either. He can do whatever he wants and Gardy can't do #### because #7 is the local boy-god. Funny...the team has played like crap ever since he came back.

Had no idea this twins thread existed! Shows, i really should read other parts of the forum too. What a year it's been for Minnesota sport! As if the Vikings turbulent season wasn't bad enough, the Twins are treating us to another up and down campaign.

The coverage over here is absolutely terrible during regular season so all i can really do is keep up to date on mlb.com and catching the odd sportscenter on ESPN. However, i did tune in just in time to see the end of an embarrassing 15-0 loss the other night and then disgraceful boy wonder Joe Mauer laughing and joking in the dugout. What is funny about a 15-0 crushing Joe? I really don't know where i stand on Mauer. I used to love him, and last week i was really prepared to give him time to overcome his injury, but seeing clips like that really makes me think he doesn't give a #### now he's got that big contract. I have no idea what the local media or fans think (not aware of a twins forum), but surely people are started to get wound up by this guy?

I see they got a win last night, but after the start of the season and more recently the last 10 days, all of my enthusiasm for the twins has gone i'm afraid. Hopefully they don't go on a storming run soon and give us all false hope. I'm an absolute sucker for that.

Anyway guys, great to see some twins chat!!

I used to be a fan of Mauer, but since signing his big money deal, not so much. I guess I dont have a problem with him joking around in the dugout, I joke around at work, even if Im having a bad day. Heck, if they were pissed every time they played poorly, most of them would want to commit suicide by now, after the season they are having. I guess I can see how some dont like it, but IMO, thats being over critical. As far as false hope, they actually gave that to me during their little mini-winning streak, but it wont happen again. They might fare well when they play the rest of the AL Central, cuz they all suck, but anytime they play a decent team, with anything that resembles a MLB pitcher, forget it. We'll score 0 or 1 run against any pitcher slightly below average or better. Fire Guardy and trade Mauer to Yanks for some young guys.

More than the Twins, all of the Twins prospects are on the roster this season.

OOPS... they accidentally won one game there last night... don't worry, it will be properly addressed and it won't happen again...

God, you guys are so pessimistic... One bad season and you want to trade away all of the best players. Yeah, because the Pirates have done so well for the last 20 years or so...

One bad season???? Do you know Guardy's playoff record??? Its been more than one bad one, MAKING the playoffs in the AL Central is not even an accomplishment, one of the crappy teams has to stink the least. Now, not only cant he get his to the point where he can go one and done, we are in last place, ina terrible division. If fans are OK just limping into the playoffs and getting knocked out the first series every season, thats their right. To me, it shows the manager is over his head, consistently. Heck, sometimes it takes us 163 games to win the division, now thats sucking evenly!

What does that have to do with the season we're having now? So making it into the playoffs is a bad season? Maybe we just ran into better teams? We lost in '09 to the eventual world series champ. In '06 we finished 1st over the defending world series champ (White Sox) and the eventual runner up (Tigers). In '02, we had the youngest team in the league and Gardy led them to the ALCS where we lost to the eventual world champion Angels. In '03, we lost to the eventual world series runner up, the Yankees. These guys aren't total pushovers and any team would have a tough time beating them back then.

You claimed I was being negetive due to one bad season. Not true. I just napparently need more than you to consider it a "good" season. Making the playoffs doesnt really matter if they continually go one and done. Doesnt matter at all. So I get to watch a couple more games before they get swept or win one??? Big deal, to ME, thats not a particularily good season. IF Guardy led teams occasionally went one and done, that would be one thing, his teams do it nearly every post season appearance. And he doesnt need a very good team usually, to win the AL central. Your idea of "good" season is just a lot different than mine.

I didnt call you out for being over patient or being happy with, what I would call a terrible manager in Guardy, so dont call me out on my opinion. You can be all happy and content winning the Central, and losing the first round all you want, thats up to you, and I dont care. I think its crazy how Guardy gets a pass year after year after year. Dont like my post, dont #### read/respond to them. While I have my opinions, I rarely, if ever, call someone out for theirs.

I was not singling you out but I mean, once things get rough, it seems every post is just so negative and it gets on my nerves

To me, playoffs is always a good thing. More money generated for the team and it keeps the fans coming back. If we went a long time without a playoff birth, I doubt there would not be as much support and Guardy would definitely be out. Also, the goal of any team is to win it all. You have to make it to the playoffs first to win the championship It ain't over until its over. It's not even the All-star break yet. Stranger things have happened in Major League Baseball.
