It sounds to me like the Vikings are blowing smoke when they say agreement on a site is imminent any day now.

Yea. And to be this far along in the process and still not being set on a site or a partner is absolutely nuts. Failing to plan=planning to fail.

Agreed 100% and in addition not even specifying what kind of stadium the team needs roofed , removable roof or open air "my preference" is bordering on absurd if you expect a community to pony up millions upon millions of dollars in a terrible economy. Mr. Wilf you are either very misinformed or delusional.

I thought they were pushing for the old armory site? Would be a decent spot, not ideal as far as infrastructure, but it's a large piece of land. If the state already owns it, that's a leg up I would think?

Gov. Dayton says Vikes share should be more. As high as 50%.
Clearly the odds of 2011 passage just hit rock bottom.

The only thing I've heard recently was the story done on Kare 11 news yesterday on a new proposal. Bruce Lambrecht was the guy behind the Target Field.

The Power Trip guys on KFAN were saying that we should know the chosen site by the end of the week, and whether or not there will actually be a stadium by the end of the month. That was about the time I got out of the car - so perhaps someone else has more details.

I'd encourage everyone that hasn't (or even if you have) to keep pressuring the legislature, some of them are acting like people don't care for some reason.

The fight for saving the Minnesota Vikings has reached a crucial moment. With a powerful, public show of support, we can speak with one voice! Help send a resounding message that our state won’t be able to ignore!

Email your Legislators monthly, even weekly and let them know you are demanding their action and support. Let them know you and the rest of the fans will not stop until we see action and a stadium. Remind them that there are options out there that make financial sense and that they owe it to us as constituents to ACT NOW!

Click the button below to email the Minnesota Legislature telling them that we need to act NOW to keep the Vikings in Minnesota!!
The "act now" button compiles a letter for you that can either edit or just send as is. Out of state fans too, write stuff like how the vikings brings your family together, trips to MN to see them, money you spend here, personal stories, or whatever you want. I'm guessing most of you already know this, if you do then that's just a reminder, if not now you know & it'd be cool for you to help out.

Twitter users I'd follow these accounts for updates, suggestions for ways you can help, and even links to current legislators that are on twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/SaveTheVikesOrg http://twitter.com/#!/MNMomentum http://twitter.com/#!/VIKESSTADIUM http://twitter.com/#!/skolvikes67

This is a misleading story really. Very close to having a deal for a site in Arden Hills, but then it would have to be proposed to the state. Not sure if this will get done in time...

They are still trying to narrow it down to a site??? Wow. That is absolutely nuts IMO. Been working on it for years, and cant even settle on a location with less than 3 weeks to go in the current session. Bagley and the team leading this stadium drive are WAY over their heads, they havent a clue. Yhey should be patiently waiting, with a detailed plan, to present it to the state as soon as they are done with the budget and all other business, not running aroound trying to find a place to build it. If they dont know where to buiold, I doubt they know what they are going to build, open air, roofed, retractable roof, ect. If this doesnt pass, the champions of this effort need look no further than the mirror. Ridicolous. How can they expect any good representitve to vote for something with such a poor plan?

I have been saying the same thing on this sits and others for months. How can the Wilfs expect the people to pay 2/3 's of their stadium costs when they haven't even done enough planning to commit to a stadium design and at the very least a location to build it. I am very surprised that the Wilfs have been so slipshod in there preparation when this has been coming since they bought the team. I expected this from Red McCheap but I figure the Wilfs were a little more savvy about development than a used car salesman. I am starting to wonder if the real plan is to sell the team or move them .
