Well, you had the Twins score right. The Yankees probably stopped trying after the second inning just to make it somewhat competitive.

Sadly, with our pitching, games that we only give up four are "must wins" IMO. It would be nice if we can steal one in NY, but I have zero confidence it'll happen.

With Gardenhire at the helm, I don't have a lot of faith, unfortunately. I am happy, however, that Punto is gone. I just wish Tolbert would follow.

150 is right because there's nothing to have faith about beyond that.

i no longer have a problem with the negativity. i admit when i first joined the board it was tough to get used to...but that was due to my own faults and not others. now, i have decided that i would much rather have a board and a thread dedicated to the twins in which some people are very negative about the team....then no thread at all which happened last year when it got locked. just not worth it.

i find it funny though that you can always tell if the twins won or lost without even checking the scores if you just click this thread. if they lost, even if it was a great game, or a loss to a very good team...there will immidiately be aat least two posts about how bad we are, how bad our pitching is, and how bad gardenhire is. FYI....i actually agree with some of that. 8)

however....if we win, and even if it's a great game in wich we score four runs in the eighth and later win the gamein extra innings....don't bother coming here because there won't be anything!

baseball is a long season, and this club in particular is going to have a lot of ups and downs i think. our pitching is most certainly suspect, and i was really annoyed we din't go for anybody this winter. in the end though, they'll be judged by what they do in the POSTSEASON because they have proved time and time again that no matter how good of a regualr season they have had, they can't get it done when it matters.

so i'm looking forward to a long spring and summer of twins baseball. we'll lose a lot of games because we play 160 of them...but we'll win more than we lose. and who knows....maybe one or two of our pitchers will actually over achieve an surprise us. here's hoping.....

Don't take the "negativity" as us being a bad fan. I just get upset with mediocrity. The Twins have dominated the Central this decade, but what do they have to show for it? A pathetic Postseason record. A manager for any other team with that horrific of a record, not to mention a putrid record against the AL East, would have been fired long ago. Instead, they give Gardenhire an extension. With the talent we have there is no reason for us to be one and done. The way he manages the game is embarassing. He'll take a pitcher out who throws three pitches and gets to batters simply because of the incrediblly overrated "Righty vs. Lefty" stat. Then the pitcher he brings in will give up a HR or a hit and he has to go to yet ANOTHER pitcher. He wore down Crain and Guerrier for the last three seasons, it was obvious in their stats.

ya i don't think anyone here is a bad fan. we all have our expectations for this team. there is no disagreement from me that we suck in the postseason and i'm over it just like you. but it can be misleading reading this board sometimes. i mean, the twins played a hell of a game the other night, rallied for 4 runs in the eighth, and one it in ten innings. come to this board...nothing. we lose today, 4-3....immediately there is a post about it. so while i don't pretend to act what other fans intentions are, you can see how trends like this confuse other readers. twins will play great and rattle off wins....nothing. twins will lose a tough one to a good team.....there will be several posts here about how bad they are.

i agree with everything you said about the flaws with this team, and i don't like how our pitchers are handled either. and i also agree that i'm at the point where regular season wins don't do anything for me until we show we can make a move in the postseason. hell, when the tigers won the whole thing a few years back....we won the division that year too. it means nothing. but it's ok to talk about the games the twins play well too. they have plenty of them. they are still a pretty decent team, but far from elite and we're going to lose games this year.

I've never said that anyone was a bad fan for negativity. Look, I get really negative too, just not this early into the season.

They called up Hughes, who supposedly had a much better camp than Tolbert but Tolbert got the job because Gardenhire wanted a veteran or something. Im hoping Hughes will do like Valencia did last season and shine.
