Can you imagine if the offense is firing on all cylinders what it would be like?

Yankee killers?

But the season is young. Plenty of time for people to get hot.

Yes, the team has been hitting, but let's not forget that one of the pitchers has a sub 1.00 ERA. Can Liriano stay healthy all year? If so, the Twins have a legitimate ace that can take them into the postseason and possibly even win them some October games for a change.

I think Thome needs to play more. They have struggled mightily with RISP, especially with the bases loaded. I think they are like 6-30 or something. I've seen them load the bases with no problems and nobody out, and then score only one or two runs. If they can figure that out, then I will think the Twins have a more than legitimate shot at the WS.

But that kid they called up to replace him is the real deal. 4 for 5 in his major league debut. Not too shabby. So, I don't think we have anything to worry about behind the plate.

The kid's name is Wilson Ramos and could have made the club out of spring training, but the Twins wanted him to every day in the minors. He's only 22 years old. Oh, and btw, he went 3 for 4 tonight and he has captured the hearts of Twins fans already.

Embarrassment of riches. With Mauer being only 27 (ie, not needing to move to first to save his knees anytime soon), is this kid trade bait perhaps?

You mean the guy who's currently week to week because of heel issue? And has had health injuries? He's also what, 6'5? I think he's going to have to be moved somewhere sooner rather than later!

I agree Demi. I believe within 5 years, Mauer will be the 3rd baseman for the Twins.

The Twins had many offers of high pick but didn't want tp part with him. And this was after Mauer signed.

If this kid is ready now, why wait 5 years?

Who? lol.

He gave up 2 runs the other day, and his ERA went UP to 1.50. Yeah, he's off to a great start.

I also like the new Delmon Young. He dropped 30 pounds, and it has made a world of difference. He's faster, and looks much more comfortable in the field. I hope he continues to get better.
