Riddell Authentic Vikings Helmet

Post by thatguy »

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if the authentic helmets that Riddell makes are a wearable size for most people? I have a pretty normal sized (and shaped head) and I'm able to wear almost any regular "large" stretch fit hat. I want to be able to wear this vikings helmet to my upcoming game, but before I shell out the cash, I really need to know whether or not I'll even be able to fit in it. Please help me out! Thanks!

(thats the helmet I really want to get)

I believe they are size Large so they should fit most people although it can be pretty snug. You can remove some of the padding inside if it's too tight, you're not using it for contact so it doesn't really matter.

I know on some of the helmets you can also add or take out some of the air in the padding (there's a hole in the back of the helmet for a needle similar to what you would use to pump up a football/basketball). Not sure if its possible with this helmet but that might also help with fit.

I was just looking at the other "normal" style helmet and this one says there is the "inflatable" points on the helmet. Do you think it's safe to assume that the Revolution helmet is the same way?

^Look under "features" to see what I'm talking about.

EDIT: I've been looking around at other random sites, and the general idea I'm getting from it is that the Revolution and original style helmets both have air pumped padding. It's looking good then. I'll prob. post some pictures when I get it and I'll letchya guys know how it worked out for me.

GOT IT TODAY!

It's a snug fit with the padding, but it wears very well. If my face ever gets bigger, I can just remove the padding. This helmet is amazing! Get one if you were ever thinking of getting one!

Here's a pic of it...it's beautiful...I actually had a tear in my eye when I first saw it... :D
