Woodstock

Post by Vikefantam »

Wow. 40 year anniversary already. I was only 2 at the time so I don't remember it but I've seen various videos over the years. Anyone have specific fond memories of Woodstock? My fav is Jimi Hendrix playing the National Anthem on his guitar. He rocked. He died way too young. He had so much talent.

That's awesome that you were at Woodstock. I was too young but that must have been amazing.

No, no, I wasn't there. I was only 2 at the time. Heck, I was just getting around to an age where my parents would let me go see Led Zeppelin when Bonzo had to, well, die the way he did back in 1980 (I'm still traumatized that I never got to see them in concert!). I believe he and Hendrix met the same fate. I suppose that's better than dying on the throne?

Just saw a clip about it on the news and wondered if anyone had any fond memories. For some reason, I've always loved the way Hendrix poured his passion into the Star Spangled Banner the way he did, how he played his guitar upside down and tuned it while he played. He was just amazing. So much talent in one person. As a former musician, you know when a fellow musician can actually feel the music they're playing. Hendrix felt it. Another life lost way too young.
