Report: Manny, Ortiz tested positive

Post by PurpleMustReign »

Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz were among the 104 major league players listed as having tested positive for performance-enhancing substances in 2003, lawyers with knowledge of the results told The New York Times.

The two were key members of the Boston Red Sox World Series championship teams in 2004 and 2007.

The lawyers did not name the substances Ramirez and Ortiz tested positive for, The Times reported.

On Thursday, before the Red Sox-Athletics game at Fenway Park, when Ortiz was asked about the 2003 drug test, he told The Times: "I'm not talking about that anymore," he said. "I have no comment."

Dang. I was hoping that Ortiz was clean. It doesn't totally surprise me, but it does disappoint me. :?

All this just makes you appreciate Babe Ruth's records that much more; doesn't it? Babe made his pepped up on hot dogs and beer!

It actually makes me laugh at all the people that use this stuff. It makes me respect baseball less every-time an incident like this pops up.

The only real hope left is Ken Griffey, Jr. If he tested positive, they may as well shut down MLB.

I liked Ozzie Gs rant on the "list". Just get the whole list out already. He is entertaining.

You know if they released that list it would be 30 wannabes, 30 so-so players, and 40 home names.
David Ortiz, Ramirez, and A Rod, all revealed to be cheaters recently.
Tip of the iceberg
