Guitar Hero has taken over my life

Post by Hunter Morrow »

Man, I play this #### entirely too much early on the weekend. I just got off a CQ shift where I essentially played it for 6 hours staight.
Anyhow, in the interest of keeping this short these are the Top 5 Songs that I wish would make the next incarnation, or be downloads, whatever.
5.
Megadeth/Skin O' My Teeth
Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer all get heavy rotation in Guitar Hero. Given how fun Hangar 18 is this is a no brainer. Great solo, high energy and a lot more grit and blues to it than the other American bands generally repped in Guitar Hero have. And the bass line is genius too so it would be a real fun 2 player song.
4.
DRI/Suit And Tie Guy
Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies, is, regardless of my liking of crossover thrash, one of the funnest freaking songs in Guitar Hero to me. This has great riffing and very solid solo to me. Real good.
3.
Danny Gatton/Elmira Street Boogie.
Danny Gatton ought to get a Guitar Hero song, he wasn't called The Humbler for nothing. And considering that Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover is a song this would be a nice shout out to that.
Good unlockable candidate.
2
Testament/(Return) To Serenity
I just think it would be good to feature kind of an older, less well known metal band. Real melodic, and I have always LOVED this solo.
1
Necrophagist/Stabwound
Finally, some good death metal in Guitar Hero!
This would be the be-all end-all hard as !@#$!!!! song at the end.
The one you can be all like...
"Yeah, I can perfect that beeyotch on Expert with the speed code on. BOW DOWN!"

My sons love that game too.

I must be getting old as 4 of the groups you listed I could have sworn were severe medical conditions, not bands! :D

I played guitar hero a lot too. We've got Rock band 1 and 2 now and play it all the time. It is a whole lot of fun.

Are you playing world tour or one of the original guitar heros?

I haven't played world tour but from what I hear it's comparable to Rock Band (which I have) and can attest to it being awesome. If you like Guitar Hero you'll LOVE rock band. Particularly the drum kit. If you like singing at all you'll love that part too ... plus, of course, there's the guitar. Everyone loves the drum kit though.

I'm too afraid to do the drums. Its the hardest instrument in the modern band.
In difficulty...
Drumming
Bass
Vocals
Rhythm
Lead
At least in my opinion. Bass can be a lot lower if the person is just playing box or anchoring something, and not doing anything too hot.
Hey, here is my chain of command, drunk off their butts, doing a Nirvana song in Rock Band.

World tour is fun as hell, as with most new GH's it's all about the songs! Tool(band) and Mr. Crowley
And the former Bear will go 99 yards
