TV Theme Songs (It *is* the offseason after all)

Post by cstelter »

OK, the recent movie/quote/TV-Car threads have me nostalgic and these threads help pass the offseason...

Like the movie quote thread, this thread is for TV Theme songs. Quote a line of a theme song/spoken intro from a TV show. If you guess it you must leave the next quote for others to guess.

Quote enough to make it unique but, but it doesn't have to be the start of a verse.

I'll kick it off with:

"You want to be where you can see our trouble are all the same"

Cheers

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time..."

Beretta

Once upon a summertime just a dream from yesterday
A boy & his magic golden flute heard a boat from off the bay
"Come and play with me, Jimmy. Come and play with me.
And I will take you on a trip far across the sea."
We come from the land of the ice and snow .... :smilevike:

(From memory-- no google required)
But the boat belonged to a kooky old witch
who had in mind the flute to snitch.
And on her broom-broom in the sky,
She watched the boat with an imperial eye

She wave her wand

The beautiful boat was gone.

The sky grew dark and the sea grew rough and the boat sailed on and on and on....

but Puff n Stuff was watching too, and knew exactly what to do.
He called his rescue racers, as often they rehearsed. And off to save the boy they went, but who would get there first?

now the boy is washed ashore, but puff was there to save the day which made the witch so mad and so she (forget the next) screamed.......

H. R. Puff n Stuff, who do you call when things get rough?
H. R. Puff n Stuff, you can't do a little if you can't do enough.

OK, in the same vein:

"..we're in the air and every where
Flying high, Flying loose, flying free as a summer breeze
Happy as a summer breeze"

The Bagaloos!

Gotta love that British stuff.

"The moment that he touched the hat the room began to glow
And as he put it down and ran the hat began to grow, and grow,
And grow, and grow, and grow, and grow, and grow, and grow,
And grow, and grow ..."

Lidsville!

I loved that show.

Car 54, Where Are You?

"Ten years ago, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire..." :)

The A Team, of course. What a great show!

Try this on for size:

"'Cause suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
...and you can do the same thing if you please."

Personally, my favorite tv theme songs were the instrumental ones. Like:
Peter Gunn
Star Trek TNG
Dragnet
The Pink Panther

I don't think they ever used the words. The music's the same though.

Laverne and Shirley

A man barely alive.
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him.
We have the technology.
We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man.
Steve Austin will be that man.
Better then he was before.
Better, stronger, faster."

Six Million Dollar Man

I had the action figure when I was a kid. Loved that show!

"Here we come, walking down the street,
Get the funniest looks from everyone we meet."

The Monkees! My second favorite show in the 60s, after Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

"People let me tell you 'bout my best friend,
He's a warm hearted person who'll love me till the end.
People let me tell you bout my best friend,
He's a one boy cuddly toy, my up, my down, my pride and joy."
