Re: KAM Extended

I'm really hopeful that some of KAM's more recent drafts start to pay off this year with McCarthy getting his shot as the starting QB and Dallas Turner having a solid year of development behind him. If just those two guys at the top of last year's draft pay off this year, that will go a long way ...

Re: KAM Extended

If KAM were only in charge of free agency and there was another guy who handled the draft, I would be fine with the extension. Or at the very least, if they had fired Grigson instead of giving him a promotion so that KAM at least had someone competent helping him with the draft.

I don't think ...

Re: Jeremiah Sirles, Alex Boone and Phil Mackey break down the NINE sacks Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold

I didn't reply to it at the time but this is a great video breaking down what happened. So glad the iOL has been revamped. Hopefully it makes a big difference in pass protection as well as the running game.

Yep, I think they did a good job in that video showing why both QB and Oline needed to ...

The Vikings really like Rypien and teams tend to go all in on 2nd year QBs, signing backups who are less than 0 as a threat to the starter.

Re: Offseason Thread

Jones back on a 2 year deal worth 20 million, with 13 million guaranteed.

Insane money to spend on a RB who will be 31 by the end of the year, and just more evidence that Kwesi has no idea what he is doing. Due to his complete lack of foresight at RB, he had nothing at RB, and overpaid an aging one ...

Re: Offseason Thread

Unfortunately, even if we had wanted to trade for him, there was really nothing we could have used to make a trade that would have been better than a 4th, or not way too much to give up.

Sure there was.

Chicago gave up a 2026 fourth. We’ve got all our 2026 picks.

I didn’t even know the ...

Re: Offseason Thread

Freaking Bears just traded for Joe Thuney of the Chiefs. Gave up a 2026 4th-round pick.

This after KC franchise tagged Trey Smith.

Wish we’d get busy building our iOL.

Wow. He's on his final deal, wonder if they've already talked about an extension for him with Chicago. I'd part with a ...

Re: Darnold - Stafford Possibility?

I think this myth needs to die. If there was any truth to this, 5 of 5 healthy rookie 1st round QBs wouldn't have started last year.

Teams just throw QBs out there in today's world. They are providing entertainment for the fans who are paying to attend the games. There's no blue print to ...

I also don't think sitting JJM has much to do with wins, I think it comes from the understanding that you can ruin a young QB by trying to throw them in too soon.

Re: Darnold - Stafford Possibility?

What I thought was surprising is the deal the 49ers made with the Commanders by trading D Samual and only getting a 5th round pick in return. I thought they could get more than that. Strange or perhaps I don't know the value of the position.

I thought a 3rd was realistic. Also why I think any ...

Re: Darnold - Stafford Possibility?

Darnold is still a possibility I guess, but Stafford is going to be a Ram next season.

Re: Offseason Thread

Not sure how it makes sense in a league where teams can just cut players with little repercussions depending on the guarantees remaining. If Kwesi had been a little more aggressive on adding years to some of these deals, and say signed Darnold, Jones and Griffin to 2 year deals, Darnold would ...

Re: Offseason Thread

One other thing to point out with cap inflation, longer contracts generally mean better value for the team (assuming the player works out that is).

So to VikingLord's question about why Kwesi signed a bunch of these short contracts on a team that was never going to compete for a Super Bowl ...
