He knocks the ball out of Dawson Knox's hands in the end zone on what would have been a game winning TD for the Bills. The next play is the game clinching INT, courtesy of Patrick Peterson. EVERYONE plays a role.

I had no clue who he was, but he saved the game for us.

this team is so fun to watch. Living and dying by last minute come backs is entertaining but not a very reliable plan. The next few games should be a good acid test of how sturdy our playoff plans are. I really hope our OL is able to raise it a notch on both pass protection and the run game. Everyone is talking that our front office is looking at picking up a certain prima dona WR, I think we would be MUCH better served by finding some OL tools.

Lets all enjoy watching the Packers get embarrassed on national TV soon!!! SKOL
The OL played very well yesterday. I was watching with a Bills fan and we were both amazed at how much time Cousins had to throw.

Late to the party. One of the best sporting events I've heard or seen!

Beyond the Davis catch. The bills also ran a play with 12 men on defense that the officials didn't catch. Normally don't complain about refs they sucked however.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/350 ... vs-vikings

Great game. Went into Buffalo and won. 8-1 guys.

You really are a schmuck.

I have barely been active on the board at all, as I haven't been able to watch the games.

Show up to see what folks have to say about a fun game, share my thoughts, and have to deal with the likes of you.

I won't bother you again, but I hope you will reflect on what a dickhead you have consistently been on this forum ever since you arrived here and drove half the board away with your juvenile behavior.
I agree that PHP was over the top and rude to you. However, I'm asking the same question. How good do they have to be for you to be sold on them. 8-1 sure is great. Is not winning pretty enough the problem?

Oh my gosh, Baldy has done it again. Check out his breakdown on P2, especially on the first interception, where he effectively turns the play into 11 on 10. Brilliant play.

Yeah, I saw that too and was just wondering what was going on with the officiating in that game yesterday? Blatant holding allowed on multiple critical plays in the endzone (all seemingly by Bills defenders) where a ref should have easily seen it.

On the first INT Cousins threw, Osborne was clearly contacted illegally well downfield. While the INT looked like a bad overthrow, and maybe it was, it's also possible that Osborne was knocked off his route by the Bills defender on the play (who incidentally fell down due to the contact as well). Refs missed it, but that would have (and should have) wiped out the first INT Cousins threw.

When they didn't call that on the first INT by Cousins and then called Booth for illegal contact late in the game I almost lost it. Booth might have committed a foul on that play, but to call that and NOT call the contact on Osborne was beyond the pale.

The failure to review the 20 yard bobble play on the Bills' last drive of regulation was also inexplicable, especially since multiple Vikings defenders and players on the sideline were clearly making the bobble sign. In a game situation like that, the refs just have to do their job and be sure.

The league office needs to take a much closer look at the ref crew that called that game. If I didn't know better, I'd say they did their best to fix it. That they failed is merely a testament to how resilient and somewhat fortunate the 2022 Vikings are. I can see a missed call here or there, but there were just too many examples of things like that in that last game and too one-sided for it to be considered just a bad day for that crew.

Reading everyone's commentary here - good stuff shared.

While the comeback from 17 down was great, the bigger shock to me was the fumbled snap in the end-zone to score a then go-ahead touchdown with under a minute in the 4th. Those kind of plays truly do not happen 99 out of 100 times.

Didn't we all think the game was pretty much over when Cousins was stuffed at 4th and goal? I did.

Literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor that the ensuing snap got botched. I don't recall feeling anything like that since the Minneapolis Miracle play.

Peg may have sucked again, but guess what? He kicked the game winner in OT. If he had missed we would have lost. Was it a short one? Yes it was, but he still had to make it.
Yes he did make it and was a clutch kick. He also helped with the tackle on his duffed KO.
I just hope he gets into a can't miss zone mentally. We will need him again.
Clutch KIck? More like a routine field goal attempt. If it was a 55 yarder or, even 45 yards on this day i would say ok, clutch!!! The Pat after Ham's TD was more a clutch situation. Can't miss that kick, HUGE miss. 4 point deficit instead of 3. Then translates into a 3 point lead instead of 4 point. Guy gets paid to make field goals/xtra points and kick deep. I've been tryin to pull for the guy but, he makes me nauseous. On that KO return it looked like he was a personal escort for the return guy. lol didn't even dive.

Pondering Her Percy wrote: Mon Nov 14, 2022 10:39 am I can honestly say, if you're "not sold" on this team after that win, spare us and take a break from the board.

The Vikings....
-are 8-1 and have won 7 straight
-have a QB that has been the most clutch 4th quarter QB in the NFL this year
-have an immense amount of talent all over this roster (something I've been saying for quite some time) including the best WR in the NFL, top 5-10 RB in the NFL, top 5 TE, top 3 LT in the NFL, top 5 safety in the NFL and the #1 pass rushing duo in the NFL.
-have a defense that is making big play after big play each week and steadily improving
-have a coach that has completely changed the culture here and has this team playing as one complete unit game in and game out
-have an aggressive GM that is willing to go out and improve this roster by any means necessary
-just knocked off the #1 Super Bowl contender in the NFL ON THE ROAD in one of the most hostile environments in football to get their 7th win in a row

....and so on.

What more does this team need to do to "sell" someone? Like give me a break. A near perfect record, beat arguably the best team in the NFL, have won 7 straight and fans arent "sold"? Like are there weaknesses? Yeah. But the Bills were considered the #1 SB favorite league wide as well as Vegas and do they have weaknesses? Clearly. I get it, the heartbreak the Vikings have given fans is extreme. But there's something different about this team and this culture. That is clear and obvious at this point. Like I said, if you arent sold, spare us because the majority of fans are sold and we are going to continue to praise what's going on.
Why would one not be sold on the vikings at this point? For starters, there's still a long way to go. ( not gonna say anything to jinx) just still a long way to go. Let's provide you with some some brief stats now.

Super Bowls: 0-4 Not 1 competitive game in 4 losses
Conference championships: 4-6 6 consecutive losses 3 heartbreakers and 3 blowouts.
Team History is mired in bad luck/misfortune. Examples: 3- 1 Vs. Saints in post season. Yep! that 1 loss looms larger because it was for a trip to the super bowl. To make matters worse, Vikings were the better team that game.
The Vikings have never beaten the Eagles in the post season. Smoked on numerous occasions. Like i said, just brief stats for you. There's more, a lot more lol but i ain't got all day.

Vikings have provided a lot of fantastic memories over the years too. The majority of those occurred over the regular season however..

Look, I like what i see this year. I'm on the wagon. Vikes are fun to watch. 8-1 Huge win yesterday!!!! Still a long way to go.

The Vikings are the Cubs of the NFL. Viking fans are very much like Cub fans, believe it or not.

He's young, can't tell young guys anything. All you can do is try. He'll get it one day when he matures. Don't see why you let that influence you. Might as well give him your lunch money too.

Hello everybody, new to the board as of today and I think I've found a home! Firstly, I've browsed message boards in the past without much interest until I found this one, the conversation and knowledge of football is about the best I've seen! Of course it's an 8-1 season but I'm not a fair weather fan, I have pretty much been a fan since I was on my hands and knees crying in front of the TV after a missed Fred Cox fieldgoal

I think I was 9-10 at the time and I can still remember it!

I am huge fan of the game, I could do without all the hype and glitz but I played football in my younger days and I've always loved the game. :govikes:

Anyway enough about me, I don't think I can say anything about that game that hasn't been said already. Absolute blast of a game to watch, never yelled at the TV once, just kept watching, until the 44 second mark of the 4th. What a riot, my wife and went out to do chores (have critters, live in the country) and when we came back in I shouted, "uhhh, hon, come here"! after looking at the TV and seeing 30-30 beginning of OT. What a game, my father has been a Vikes fan since I can remember and I give him credit that he's made it to 80 years old watching this team all these years!

I hope everybody that's been watching them that long gets to see a championship! :appl: Go Vikes!

I was just hoping for a safety, which would have given us a shot to win the game. The fumble and TD never even entered my thoughts... until it happened. Credit to the O-line, Kendricks and Harry diving into the pile to shake things up.

He's a Kirk hater or baiter no more than that.
Another post he was talking about how much KOC would like an athletic QB I thought every guy playing this sport was athletic. He's looking for mountain climbers to join our team. There's thousands out there waiting for a call. We are playing as a complete team and some hate that. They shouldn't watch or pay attention. Find something more enjoyable.
Kirk is definitely part of my hesitation to buy in. Also, the seeming inability (in the games I've seen) to consistently move the ball on the ground. In the post season, I trust neither of those things. The Philly game also gives me hesitation with regard to taking on a really physical team at the LOS. The vikings have struggled with that for a long time, and the interior of the offensive line still gives me pause.

It is a peaceful feeling to just not care that much, which is also probably part of the reason I can't get 'all in' on this team. In the past I would have been trying to balance my enthusiasm with tempered expectations as a well worn Vikings fan. This year, I'm a passive observer. I don't have the experience of feeling like I'm living and dying with the wins and losses.
Might wanna ease up on Kirk a bit. Feel he's taken a step forward especially over the last two weeks. Lol for some reason i'm starting to get this Jim Plunket type vibe from him. Not the broken down bust of QB Jim Plunkett. The uncanny Jim Plunkett that led the the wild card 1980 Raiders to the Superbowl @ss blasting of the Sheagles. Get were ur comin from. But, have a little faith baby, have a little faith!! :smilevike:

With a team snapping the ball from the 6 inch line Safeties happen a lot more than one time out of 100. I felt good about our chances of getting a safety in that situation. Turned out we got a TD instead. A safety could have easily won the game for us in regulation with us kicking the winning FG as time expires.
