I bet being able to pick Darnold up off the scrap heap and turning him into a productive qb carried a lot of weight in the voting. I think maybe if I was voting Dan Cambell might have gotten my vote (don't hate me). But not by a lot.

Oh…okay. Now I feel better about the 2 playoff losses. Meaningless honor IMO.

I think KOC got the nod for doing roughly as much with "less". A QB everyone declared garbage. A roster most everyone predicted would be bottom of the NFC north rather than 14-3 and in the playoffs. Campbell took the previous year's NFC North champs and an NFC Championship team and didn't get as far as he did the year prior. He's still a great coach and deserves credit. I could have seen it going either way.

I'm sure it means something to the coach that got it. All these awards are just something to keep the party going a little longer. MVP is the same deal. It will be a QB this time Allen but I don't see how Barkley didn't get it. He carried that offense to a SB. Allen was dumped in the playoffs again. No different than our leader. One is called a bum choker who cost the team a full march the other is MVP. Yes it meaningless.

Given the Vikings were expected by many to win around 6-7 games this past season I'd say KOC deserves the aware as compared to someone like Dan Campbell whose team was expected to be good and fell short. Of course, Campbell's team had to deal with almost unprecedented injuries on the defensive side of the ball for a large portion of the year, so that was a mitigating factor for him, but more of KOC's peers thought he accomplished the most with what he had to work with.

Glad the Vikings extended KOC. He's not perfect but he has the right attitude and his players seem to love playing for him.

Of course some idiot from Detroit has to tarnish his win by quoting KOC as saying "Darnold will be a part of our championship run", when he actually said "Justin Jefferson will be a part of our championship run". They sound similar I totally, get how he messed that up.

Absolutely well-deserved.

Dan Campbell wouldn’t be top-5 for me. That team is loaded. And if we’re dinging guys for playoff failure, don’t forget … Detroit’s playoff record was the same as ours, only they got thumped at home.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.
