Another win and a 3 division lead!

Nice win and nice loss by the Pack. It's hard to go on the road and win. I give them credit for that. Slow start for everyone on O especially the OL. Cook broke one which helps and good for him. Patrick Jones had a game. They will probably sit still and keep going the way it is. I wouldn't but I'm just a long time fan. No more than that. I guess Camryn Bynum will get the game ball for the recovery of the kick. Good play. After watching KOC in locker room every D player got a game ball. He said the D was the back bone.

The run game has to be better than it was today. I need to rewatch the game but I was in a restaurant and I thought I looked up and saw we had 17 rushing yards in the 3rd. Tua had played this game would have been very different. Still, a win is a win and coupled with GB looking like they're going to have a down year is extra sweet.

It was slow going via the run today, but then Dalvin broke that long run for a TD to get what would be an insurmountable lead.

This year almost seems charmed thus far. The ball is bouncing our way. We got to play NO on a neutral site w/o their starter. We got to play MIA w/o Tua. The Packers look lost and the Lions and Bears are too. We need to keep improving, especially on D, but once again I like that we found a way to win. Our Offense made some adjustments. Our Special Teams were crucial today. Thielen played a great game.

Didn’t get to see the game today. Could only listen to PA on the radio. (Public Servce Announcement — NFL+ Premium is GARBAGE. They wouldn’t show the Vikings here in Iowa. Immediately cancelled it.)

I’m no expert, but I did call for the Vikings defense to be more multiple and play more 4-man fronts in order to get more pressure on the QB. PA and Bersich mentioned that the Vikes DID play lots of 4-man fronts, and the result was 6 sacks and a whopping 22 pressures, 19 of which came on plays where the Vikings didn’t blitz. They consistently got pressure with 4. That allowed the secondary to be opportunistic and take the ball away.

The offense had nine 3-and-outs, we got outgained 458-234, and the defense was on the field for more than 35 minutes. Yet after the first quarter, the Vikings were in control of the scoreboard. And an amazing thing was that even though it was 115 degrees on the Minnesota sideline, it was Dolphins players going down with cramps. It’s a strange game sometimes.

Bottom line — the Vikings are a remarkably resilient team. Not only that, they’re 5-1 with effectively a 3-game lead in the division (2-game lead plus tiebreakers). An incredibly great start to the season. SKOL!

Listening to the game today was a head scratcher as it seemed as we gave up on the run game too early, Miami D is no slouch though. we were dominated in time of possession, but we made some adjustments and prevailed.

Good points, here, Kapp. We got way more pressure today than we had generated against the Bears, Saints and Lions. Also, I gave a game ball to AT, but PP deserves one too. He made some amazing plays today.

It actually looks like they started to figure something out in order to get pressure. This is what we needed. Patrick Jones was a stud, Zadarius was all over the field, and Danielle was constantly on Teddy's heels. The defense seemed like it started to finally gel that game.

The Dolphins game was a good illustration of a team sport. Miami had the speed and home field, the Vikes overcame the Miami player stat sheet and found a way to win. It appears that they came through it healthy as well. It has been my kind of season, a bit stressful but they’re showing a lot of heart.

Post game P Jones was asked about getting his first 2 sacks and he said he knew they were passing and it was Go Time and he pinned his ears back. That's what I like to hear. Our secondary like most needs our front 7 to get after the QB. That cures many ills. Jones was asked about the heat and he said they practiced in sweats to prepare and he didn't notice the heat. It's good for us that Jones had some success. It won't always be like this but the skill and more importantly drive is there.

Something to think about: the Packers went to London and lost to the Giants. They then returned home and showed the effects of jet-lag and fatigue and played flat against the Jets.

The Vikings, on the other hand, took care of business both in London and upon returning... and the fatigue didn't even catch up with them in Miami, despite the heat and humidity.

Agreed Kapp and php. Appeared they started to find a comfortable spot that was also effective. Also want to see it against full time qb starter that knows their respective offense in and out. Was very good to see regardless.

Kevin O'Connell is just incredible. I absolutely love his attention to detail.

In the end, THEY were the fresh team, even though it was 115 degrees on their sideline, and Miami was the team cramping up. And guess what? In the fourth quarter, when fatigue was likely to become a factor, the Vikings shined.

Loving this team more every week.

I caught that about hydration and acclimating via sweats too. I think the results speak to having taken the best route w/ "sleep science" as well for their trip to London. Seems like KOC has a good team of experts around him.
