Great signing. We are finally on the board this off-season. Him and Hunter will make a great duo if they stay healthy.

Came here to post this.

I guess Z's photos from yesterday DID mean something after all. Of course they did.

1. Hopefully he is recovered from his back injury

2. I guess this means Barr is definitely gone?

Fantastic signing. Trying to be cautious, but this signing has me excited!

O'Connell and Donatell want to go to a 3-4. Smith is an experienced 3-4 OLB with a phenomenal track record. Together, he and Hunter have the potential to rain absolute terror on opposing quarterbacks. Just need them to both be in good health.

But if they can stay on the field, this does more to improve the defense than almost anything else could.

Same as others. Cautiously optimistic! Back injuries always concern me. Even if not playing a highly aggressive, contact, sport. Even more so when you are.

If he and Hunter are both healthy, and we have both on our roster, they could be scary pass rushing duo.

Smart move by Smith to not take the initial offer from Baltimore. He is making 7 million more total on a contract that has one fewer years on it.

Yep, he gambled and won. Hopefully this is a win for the Vikings as well

He backed out of a 4 year $35 million deal and got a 3 year 42-47 million deal. WTF was he thinking when he agreed to the earlier deal anyway? I don't really know how good he is, but 14-16 million a year is Tall Cotton as they say.

I'm going to be the negative Nellie. We are relying on two guys who have some quite significant health issues on very large contracts. I hope it works out. If they both miss significant time we might self destruct and give the fans what they want. A very high draft pick next year. Here's hoping they are awesome all season long. :govikes: :v):

Hopefully. I've seen enough of Barr. Should have let him go to the Jets years ago.

I see that they converted Hunter's money to a signing bonus today and freed up $13.5m. Could be more surprises, this thing isn't over by any means. Keep in mind that KOC and KAM walked into this thing not even knowing the players on last year's roster and had to cram a lot of evaluation and decisions into a short time. They are being methodical and tight lipped for a reason.

I'm giving advice on how to watch 60 seasons of Vikings football without ending up in therapy if anyone is interested.

I was SOOOO disappointed when we signed him at the last minute for way too much money.

I was trying to be optimistic and trust that Zimmer knew what he was doing. Deep down I knew better.
