Figured we kick it off early by letting everyone know that Dave Caldwell has been fired from the GM position for the Jaguars. I doubt it would save their season in any way, but it's still a net positive for them. Caldwell has been horrendous for the Jags overall.
I get the feeling we'll stomp all over them though next week.

I also believe we will stomp the Jags next week. With that said, I also believed that last week against Dallas, so I try to not let myself believe that against anyone.
But I sure hope we are right on that opinion R C

Jags are my second favorite team. Only because I was living in Jax when they were added to the league, and we taught a bunch of the players motorcycle safety on the weekends.
The only Vikings game I've ever been to was in Jacksonville when the Vikings went up by 14 in the first 35 seconds of the game!
So no matter who wins, I win.

I'm not very familiar with the Jags this year outside of knowing they had a firesale. Vikings should win this but as others have said they should have won others they blew. I'm hoping Mattison gets more touches and Cook/Ezra Can rest and recover fully going into Tampa while Vikings coast to an easy win. Too much to ask?

The Jags have put in some competitive performances against some decent teams, losing by 3 at Tennessee early in the year and by 4 to the Packers more recently. They've had some bad losses as well, but I wouldn't call them a bad team. I'd call them a flawed team that has been on the wrong side of the majority of breaks.
The Vikings should not look past the Jags and I don't think they will. I think this will be a close game until the 4th quarter, more so because I think that while the Vikings are playing better overall, they still have some real weak spots on special teams and miscues (both turnovers and untimely penalties) that tend to negate a lot of what they're doing well. But I think the Vikes will pull away in the 4th.
Hopefully the Vikings get Cleveland and Thielen back for this one. Brett Jones has filled in admirably for Cleveland, but I think Cleveland just moves really well at that guard spot and that makes a difference when the Vikings want to run. Having an effective run game coupled with the dual threat posed by Thielen and Jefferson makes the Vikings offense pretty hard to stop.
Defensively, the formula is simple - limit the run on the early downs and get the Jags into 3rd-and-longs. I think the Vikings have done a good job of mixing coverages in the secondary and confusing opposing QBs and I expect that to continue against the Jags, but I'm hoping to see more out of the pass rush and early down run defense along the lines of what the Vikings defense showed in the 2nd half against the Panthers. That was winning defense, and if they can start to play like that more consistently, this team is going to start winning by much more comfortable margins against better competition.
As for the final result, if the Vikings start to iron out the kinks on both sides and avoid critical mistakes, I could see them winning comfortably. If they can't perform at that higher level consistently, it will be a much closer win or even a loss if they make enough mistakes. I don't think the Jags can come in and win comfortably, but like Dallas they can win if they execute well and get some help from the Vikings. I'll predict a final score of Vikings 35, Jags 17.

On offense we should be able to dominate. But right now with Ezra out we basically have a blocking dummy at RG. That's a big hole to overcome. On top of that Cook needs to rest. If he does play he's a shell of himself and that will hurt. They need to get the full speed guy in there. I doubt that happens though. So moving the ball could be a big problem. With that I expect a very close game in our favor. But if it flipped the other way I wouldn't be surprised or even shocked. Basically a toss up game.

Actually Vilma last week was pretty complimentary of the Vikings, especially Cousins. And he was positively giddy when Beebe caught the redemption TD pass.
I still hate him because he is and always will be part of the BountyGate Saints.

Good news.
Adam Thielen activated today from Reserve/COVID 19 list.
He'll be in the lineup against Jax.

Am I the only one who kept thinking Jodi Foster was calling the game?

at all your predications that Vikings will stomp the Jaguars and the 35-17 score, Vikings barely won in overtime, you all should not make predications anymore to save the embarrassment

That's one way to ingratiate yourself to other members, just act condescending and be a dick to them.

I never made any prediction, only that I felt we had a good chance at beating them. But you do you, and I will call you out on it.

You did make an prediction which you said "I get the feeling we'll stomp all over them though next week" which did not happen, nice try though! I am not going to reply anymore, I hope you have a good day, later!
