XFL For the Love of Football talk

Hey guys, so I just wanted to start a thread where we can discuss any and all XFL stuff. Who are you guys cheering for? Any players you are interested in watching?

Myself, I'm from the STL area and I'm excited to follow the Battlehawks. Just from watching yesterday I liked what I saw from Cardale Jones on D.C. I also really like Washington's back up Tyree Jackson. He looked good against us in preseason and I don't know why he isn't on a roster. Some of you may recall (but probably not ) that I had us drafting him in my mock draft last year. Both of these Qbs are better than Manniom imo. I also loved watching the son of Ricky Proehl for Seattle yesterday. His dad sent the Rams to the Super Bowl back in 99. He looks like a Wes Welker to me.

I haven't watched a game yet so I'm not sure which team I'll support. The Battlehawks are the closest to me geographically.

I forgot Cardale Jones was in the league! It will be interesting to see how he does. It sounds like he got off to a good start.

Yeah he didn't look too bad. Threw some darts on the run. I was surprised by some of the older guys like Raheem Moore that were playing on the league.

Ta'amu of the Battlehawks looked pretty good to me in game one. Great pocket awareness and mobility. Some perfect passes in tight coverage.

I caught a quarter of the NY/Tampa Bay game yesterday. NY was dominating the Vipers.

I'm hoping I can catch at least one complete game next weekend.

That's the one game I didn't watch at all. I record them then watch later or catch up with the Battlehawks like an hour after it starts. From what I heard TB has an atrocious offense.

It certainly looked atrocious while I was watching. Their defense didn't look any better.

Wow, there's already been a coaching change after one week. The Wildcats dumped Pepper Johnson as defensive coordinator.

After consulting with Cliff, I've moved this thread here to Vikings Talk since that's where the offseason discussion is centered.

If you want to talk XFL, this is the thread in which to do it.

Any former Vikings of note playing?

"Of note"? I'll let you be the judge.

Here's an article about former Vikes playing in the XFL:

Some former Vikes in the article (and the league):

Willie Beavers
Storm Norton
Nick Truesdell
Jhurell Pressley
Will Sutton
Taylor Heinicke

I like the kickoff concept. But I have been struggling to get excited about the game play. The freakish athleticism of the NFL has me spoiled.

Jones looks so good compared to the other QBs. It will be interesting to see if that translates into him being considered for a backup spot in the NFL again.

I will say it seems like it’s taking off much better than the AAF did. I hope they keep it going to be honest. It gives guys another possible shot at the nfl and another source we could always pull from from a depth perspective

Totally agree and it gives us more football to watch much to the chagrin of my wife
