1st rounder? :wallbang:

Well.. if we win the SB I won't be too mad. But dang.. that is a steep price for an injury-prone QB with less than stellar production.

Sam Bradford is reunited with Shaun Hill (from Rams days) and Pat Shurmur (from time with Eagles) in Minnesota.
I wonder how much influence Shurmur's input had on this decision.

That was obviously a negotiation ploy (in hindsight) to act as if the Vikings want a QB, but they are "ready to enter the season with Hill" so the other teams don't ask too much.

His production for the last 3 years have all been better then your starters two years in far worse situations imo, I think though the price tag is high, you are getting a QB who can come in and produce to the point you need him to.

Well obviously that ploy failed.

A first and a fourth for a guy who will be here ONE YEAR.

This team was taken behind the woodshed on this one.

I like it. Draft picks are never a guarantee, first rounder or not. This gives the Vikes optimism and makes this season matter again. Hopefully the Vikes are not drafting anywhere before 28th in the first round anyway

I think it is a good pickup at the very least, I understand not liking the price, but I think Bradford can be the guy you need at QB.

I think he's signed through 2017 but still

I like it. Bradford can put up similar production to Teddy. We are banking that our pick this year will hopefully be a late first rounder.

Holy cow. Big news.

No sure what my reaction is.

Pros
Talented, strong arm, experienced

Cons
Injury history, production has never lived up to talent

The hope is that his lack of production has been the result of toiling in unimaginative offenses under Jeff Fisher. He has thrown for more than 3,500 yards three times, including more than 3,700 last year in 14 games for Philly. Concerning, however, is his career 6.5 YPA, which is even lower than Teddy's.

Maybe a change of scenery -- and the best runner in the NFL -- will give his career a shot in the arm. Just trying to remain optimistic.
