He had a breakout year during the 2nd half of the 2014-15 season. Now he's basically invisible. 6 receptions for 46 yards this season. Is this just due to injuries or what?

He's missed two games. Nobody came to play in San Francisco. I haven't watched enough of the right angles of film to see if he's getting separation. Working against him: Run-first team (fewer targets/game. For instance Teddy only threw 18 passes in week 2), poor offensive line. That said, I'm sold on Diggs getting the nod.

I know we're all clamoring for a stud receiver but we may need to pump the breaks on CJ's 2014 "breakout." He only had two games with more than 87 yards. He scored just twice. In the last six games he caught more than five passes only once. I'm not sure he's the second coming of early career Victor Cruz.

So in the first quarter against the lions, Stefon had 5 catches, 81 yds..

Diggs outplayed him, by far.. I like Johnson, but I really saw nothing from him this season...

partially because the Ol has given little time for routes...secondary reason is teams are looking
more for him and get better CB's covering him.

when you OL gives you NO time to run routes, the quickest reciever who can just get open will likely get the most opportunities. CJ has more experience in the system but cant really take advantage of it with Teddy limited to 2 second reads.

That and the fact that we have quality WRs. It's easy to get lost if they are out a game or 2. Wallace, Diggs, and Wright all good producers when healthy. Thielen produces when asked. Leaving only Patterson in the doghouse so to speak. Very capable group imo.....and cant understand those that harp about not having a "true" no 1.

Step 1 is VERY important.

I wonder if either can play the slot. I personally would like to see both on the field more than Wright.

That was my exact thought when Diggs started putting up numbers. I would love for them to find some way to make the top three be Diggs, Wallace, and Johnson. I just don't know if any of the three are good fits for the slot?

Johnson sure made a play at the end of the Bears game!

I was talking with my fiancé after the game, and with Diggs limping around a bit, do you guys realize 5 of our 6 targets have spent time hobbled this year?

There's not a lot of games missed, but this dynamic corps of pass catchers is being shaved down week by week. CP is the only player who appears to be 100% right now.
