Speculation from Zulgad:

The Vikings are among eight teams the NFL could volunteer to be on the show in 2015.
The other clubs are the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.
The Browns would seem to be the favorite because of the presence of quarterback Johnny Manziel. The Vikings might become more attractive if running back Adrian Peterson returns next season.
more at the link. It would be fun for us fans if the Vikes ended up on the show.

I've never seen the show...I'm sure it's interesting.
Kinda weird how they just foist it on certain teams. At least I think it's weird....maybe it's something else.

I'd definitely watch, no question. But I hope we don't have to do it.

I hope the team doesn't have to be on it, but I would watch it anyways.

Like others, I'd definitely watch it, I'd even be excited to watch it. But I'd still prefer the media circus goes somewhere else.

They might be asked but I'd be more than a little surprised if the Vikings agreed.

Yeah, they probably get as much airtime because of all the drama. They don't need a full show to help them get exposure.

I personally would love it and find a way to watch it. I think most if not all of the leadership in the front office and coaching staff would prefer it didn't happen. It does make a lot of sense for the Vikes to get volunteered though. Zimmer was apparantly very entertaining when he was on. The potential Peterson redemption angle. Norv Turner trying to mold Teddy into one of the young star QB's in a league that is approaching a point where some great QB's will be passing the torch to a new generation. Patterson could be a star too, he seemed to have loads of personality when I saw him on a predraft special on NFL network. Add in the unfortunate reality that the Vikes are usually present on the Police blotter too. Outside of Cleveland with the potential for a Manziel trainwreck the Vikes probably offer the most potential for drama.

They don't have the option to agree or disagree. A year or two back there were no teams who were willing to agree to be on Hard Knocks, so the league implemented a rule to make sure the series continues. Starting last year there are 3 stipulations that a team has to meet to avoid being potentially forced to be on the show. The only way a team has the choice is if they have either:
1. Made the playoffs in the past 2 years.
2. Been on the show in the past 10 seasons.
3. Have a first year head coach.
If you do not fall into any of those categories (we currently do not), then if no team volunteers to participate in the show, the leauge has the power to nominate you for the show, and the team has no say in the matter.

I think in some ways it would help the Vikings, but in some ways it takes away from practice
and is a real distraction...

If it would help us get some more national coverage I'd be for it. Living out-state, this past season was brutal... I don't think I saw a single game on my TV.
