@DerekWetmore -- "At times we're like the Bad News Bears. We play so good and then it's like 'what in the world is going on?'" -- Mike Zimmer on the #Vikings
“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.” --- Bill Shankly

If the Vikings are indeed the Bad News Bears, at least the Bears made it to the championship game. They lost but then everybody drank beer.

Should we start calling Mike Zimmer Morris Buttermaker?
“I’m trying to instill the toughness that I want these guys to have,” Zimmer said. “I don’t want them to see me saying, ‘Woe is me’ over the stuff that has happened. I’ve seen a coach quit on his team.
“Regardless of how bad it gets, I’ll never use anything as an excuse. I can’t let our football team see that the guy who supposedly is leading them is going to flinch the first time I get a punch thrown at me.”
I like that - I believe he's referring to Bobby Petrino? Zimmer is old school, that much is certain. He reminds me of my high school coach in some ways. Seems like he thinks carefully about how the things he says and does will be perceived.
"The weird thing about it is the OTAs, training camp and everything else was so smooth. Everything was kind of like how I envisioned it would be. And then the St. Louis game was pretty much the same way. And then, I don’t know, whatever the word is, it kind of hit the fan.”
