Prime Time TV Futility

Why do we play so badly when we are on prime time tv (Thursday, Sunday night, Monday)? Since 2010, we've played in 13 prime time games and our record is 2-11 with most of those recent losses not even close. I'm not surprised the rest of the country doesn't respect us, or that we don't get more prime time games. With the way we play in those games, maybe it's a good thing we don't get many. The only way we will get more prime time game is when we start winning more.

So sad, this team doesn't handle pressure well. Sadly the franchise has never handled pressure well either. :(

That list hurts my soul in deep dark ways.

Since schedules are determined by previous years' performance and the networks actually WANT to make money with advertising and market share, it doesn't surprise me that the little bit of prime time we have has sucked the last few years. well, we've sucked. We've sucked even worse on the road. So now we have to un-suck for next year and work our way back into being a GOOD team, not only for prime time but for Sunday afternoon as well.

If the Vikes keep playing like this, it will be easy to get tickets in MN.

Fortunately I didn't watch last night's game - I was at work. I won't watch even though DH recorded it for me. I don't need the aggravation.

This year will be a year of seeing what Zimmer has and what the team can legitimately do. There is no I in TEAM, but there is a U in SUCK. Let's lose the U, people!

Yeah, I am personally happy we don't have any more prime time games.

The last two prime time games in 09 in CAR & ARZ were really bad too.

It's also worth mentioning that this list doesn't include the Joe Webb playoff game. So it's really 2-12.

Basically the last "season" (16 games) that the nation has seen us play has been a 3-13 season, dating to the 09 playoffs.

This team just isn't the same when we play in front of the 'national audience.' I have no idea why. Even in 2009, the team was collapsing in prime time towards the end of the year. All I know is 2-14 or whatever the record is in the last five years on prime time is just pathetic.

It is really frustrating to watch this team get embarrassed consistently on prime time TV. All you can really do as a fan anymore is shake your head and laugh. That's what my friend, girlfriend, and I did last night during the game. There isn't even a point to get angry about it. I believe we are headed in the right direction as a team, but man, this team desperately needs a new identity.

This fact represents a genuine catch 22 for me. As an out of state fan who is too frugal to spring for the Sunday ticket, I love being able to see my team play (in HD and not a crappy pirated stream); but on the the other hand, they usually lose, so it just frustrates the heck out of me.

Last night's game sucked. I hate the Packers. I hate the Lamblow leap. I hate the holding calls that didn't get called. I hate that we didn't play better. I hate all of their fans' talk of 'legacy' and 'history'. I hate hearing my backwoods tennis teammate from Wisconsin talk trash (in his, I'm being nice, but really I'm being a jerk kind of way) after this kind of whooping. I just hate the Packers, and losing to them sucks.

4 Super Bowls, 4 losses.
I'll say we can't handle presuure.
I watched all 4 Super Bowls live (Yes, I am THAT old) and it still hurts.

We beat GB to make the playoffs in week 17 2012 season when the game was flexed to primetime.

No, it wasn't. It was a 3:25 CST Sunday afternoon game, not prime time. Dallas and Washington played the Sunday night game that week.
