I would tend to agree with the article that names AD, CP and KR as the Viking's "Big Three". If Smith can stay healthy, he might be able to edge out KR but for my money AD and CP are dead locks.

Right now, that's tough because other than AD, they don't have a lot of talent that has consistently stepped up and performed well for many years like San Antonio and Miami...

Hmm... It really highlights how young of a team they are.

Patterson isn't one of the 3 best players yet, because he needs to prove he's not Buster Rhymes. I make that comparison because they're strikingly similar in athletic skills, not because I think he's a thug or an idiot who isn't going to give his full self to football. It seems like Patterson has it under control and is by all accounts a good kid, and seems to really be working hard as well. I fully expect him to be one of our "Big Three" by the end of the year, but he has a lot to prove as a receiver. Some of those guys who blow you away as a rookie just get figured out after a year.

I think a safe "Big 3" would be Peterson/Jennings/Loadholt or Peterson/Jennings/Rudolph, but I'm gonna try and sort of make a prediction of sorts and go with Peterson/Patterson/Griffen. I'm sure Jennings will be a 1,000 yard receiver, and I'm sure Rudy's got a great opportunity to have a career year, and Harrison Smith might have a chance to break out, but those are 3 who I see making the most of the changes that have taken place. With that said, I think it's going to be a team effort, as is almost always the case with good teams.

The only way I see Loadholt as part of a Vikings "big 3" is if we're talking purely about size.

I don't think the Vikes have a "big three" on offense, at least not in the sense of some of the teams that have clearly had such trios, like Dallas' "big three" of Aikman/Smith/Irvin, Buffalo's trio of Kelly/Thomas/Reed or the Colts with Manning/James/Harrison.

The Vikes have Peterson and possibilities. Jennings, Rudolph and Patterson are the logical choices, especially the latter because of the explosive scoring ability he showed last year. As you said, he has a lot to prove but I suspect every team that plays the Vikes this year will have two top concerns when they put together their defensive game plan: stopping Peterson and accounting for Patterson. They won't be the only players of concern but they're the two most capable of scoring from anywhere on the field and making a defense look silly with their athletic ability.

I think I'd go with AD, CP84, and Harrison Smith as our biggest three, however, I think AD is the only one who meets all of the criteria of being one of the big three.

Agreed.

AD, Sullivan, Kalil are probably our best 3 players.

The Vikings don't have a big three. The have a big one. Rudolph needs a competent QB throwing to him before he emerges as an elite TE.

I have mentioned this before, Phil is from my hometown and was quite an athlete in football and basketball. he was 6-6 as a senior and weighed in at 300lbs.. He was a man among boys.
