I thought that it might be fun to look back and reflect on some of the great plays and games that the Vikes have had.

I will start it off with this exciting game against the Cardinals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHxxLTeUFRU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUfzoVJLpYo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aM0BIP0uzc

That first one is awesome. That pass to Shank to tie it up was, well, it was sexy!

I miss a lot of those guys. And I miss the Dome already. :( Good stuff, though.

Wow. Watching those highlights brought back some great memories. Pretending to be Chuck in the backyard running around, through, or over people. I always loved his footwork.

I see a lot of similarities between him and AD. People some times forget that 44 was not just an elusive back but had genuine power. He is one of my all time favorite Vikings :)

When i think of the Cardinals, only one thing comes to mind... Anquan Boldin catchings a pass in the endzone (and subsequently being pushed out of the endzone, before there was a push out rule) and keeping us out of the playoffs... Many of the NFLs rules are written in the blood of the vikings.

As for great moments, everyone will remember this one, it actually came up in a dinner conversation last week. Brett Favres pass to Greg Lewis in the back of the end zone againts the 49ers. That play set the tempo for the while rest of the season.

Same memory, but only one is remembering accurately. Quite frankly, I'd love to forget about it. Although, I did just watch the video of it to see what role Boldin played...he made the tackle. lol. Good ol' Vikes! Reminds me of some of our games last season. Some things just don't change. :D

Ahhhh, i see that now, thanks guys, i know Boldin at least played an annoyingly good game that day. that was the last vikings game i watched before i went into the Navy, didnt get to see many games over the next 4 1/2 years. I assumed i was right and that the Poole thing was something that happened while i was in the navy and thus didnt know about it hehe. I will alter my memory to the correct one from now on.

Foreman IS my favorite Viking of all-time. You can see my avatar. I'm old enough that I watched Foreman lot. Even though I lived in Idaho at the time, the Vikings were on TV often. He was amazing!!

About the only thing AD has on him is the break-away speed. Chuck didn't really have that. He was very quick and could change direction faster than any runner I've ever seen, but he wasn't all that fast straight ahead. Where Adrian can be at top speed in a step or two, Foreman had kind of long legs for his height and it seemed to take him a little bit to get up to speed. He didn't break a lot of long TD runs. When he would get clear, he would often be caught before he could score.

Otherwise, he was the whole package. Very elusive to the point of just making defenders look foolish as they were left grabbing at air. Could catch like a wide receiver and was very strong for his size. In his prime he weighed a little over 200 at 6'2".

He was a HOF talent. He was THAT good at his best. But his effective career was cut short due to a knee injury. He didn't do it long enough to get any Hall consideration.

One of my favorite things about him was a comment he made to Phyllis George on a "NFL Today" feature in 1977. She asked him why he never spiked the ball. He said even though Bud Grant frowned on it that wasn't the reason he didn't do it. He said, "When I cross the goal line I figure my point's been made." LOVE that.

That's a great quote.
