A couple years ago the forum changed hands and some of the moderators retired. I had been a member for a couple of years at that point and they asked for volunteers. I have a background in IT (been in the field for 13 years, have an MSMIT, and am currently working as a database administrator) so I'm guessing my background and time with the board is why I became one.
It could have also just been I was one of the only people to volunteer ... hard sayin' lol

It occurs to me that when I started being a mod I was still a student. So likely just my time with the board. I ended up with some pretty good qualifications though.
