I was just curious to see a poll of what QB everyone would like to see in purple with the 8th picks

I said Bridgewater, but I'm not overly impressed with any of them, especially before the third round.

Teddy, without a doubt. I'm unwavering on this.

I picked Bridgewater and here's the reason why. He is the most consistent out of all of the QB's. We don't need a guy like manning who throws for 50 tds and 5000 yards. All we need is a consistent guy who can year in and year out throw for 3200-3500 yards, 25 tds, and limit his interceptions to 10 or under . That and a defense that ranks in the top 10. Seattle proved it last year with Wilson (3300 yards, 26 tds, 9 int.) and a strong defense, and i believe we can do the same with teddy at QB and Zimmer running the defense.

If Teddy Bridgewater falls to 8 and we pass on him, we will regret it. In a few years we'll be looking back at this draft class wonder how the hell we had a franchise QB who was never expected to fall to us sitting on the board and yet we still passed.

I'm not sold on the fact Zimmer and co. draft Bridgewater if he does fall. If he falls, the reason is physical, and does a new coach want to hitch his wagon to a smaller QB like that?

Voted no QB. And I hope OP meant for this year.
This is how I weigh it. We have Cassel. Need defense. Addressed a few positions on D, needs more attention at LB.

Nobody, go defense and get a QB in the later rounds. I was a Bridgewater fan but none of these QBs are worth taking at #8. At least not for us. I refuse to believe we are only a QB away from being contenders. We need to use that pick on a LB or CB.

Not for us, key thought, right there. But I seriously doubt we take a CB in the 1st. But I do think there's a good chance we take 2 CB's with our 3 picks between rounds 2-3.

The more I think about it and look, I think A.J. McCarron is the only one worth taking in the 3rd round, even though I don't think Zimmer and Norv are thinking that way.

Amend that though from 2 CB's to one S and a CB.

I think it is kind of funny for the people voting that no QB is worth the EIGTH overall selection. Now, if the question was posed using the first overall pick, I would not find the voting so amusing. I am sorry I am not trying to belittle those that voted, but Teddy Bridgewater, if available, would definitely be worth the eighth overall pick.

Thanks for your explanation. I should have done the same, so I'll add on to what you said. Not only is he consistent, but he's very cerebral and savvy. By that, he's one of those standout students of the game. He was given a lot more flexibility at the LOS than most college QB's (audibles and check-with-me's) and there are no questions about his ability to read a defense post-snap either. He doesn't turn the ball over and his TD:INT efficiency only got better and better with each passing year at Louisville.

His size doesn't bother me at all. 6'3" used to be more prototypical for Q's back in as early as the 90's and that height, you're really splitting hairs if you think he plays closer to a 6'1" or 6' than he does a true 6'3". So long as he has the mind that coaches and scouts say that he does, then I'm not worried about his size. His frame should add a little bulk, but again...He gets rid of the ball quick because he knows what he's seeing, so concerns of getting beaten down back there are limited to only the natural physicality of football.

His arm isn't overwhelming, but he can definitely make every throw that's needed in the NFL level. I'd be ecstatic if they got Teddy.
