He is a punk ... Plain and simple

He was interviewed immediately after an emotionally charged game. If you want to consider him a punk, you might want to look at him as a complete person rather than as a soundbite. This is a guy who worked his way out of Compton, earned a 4.2 GPA in high school, attended Stanford, stayed until he finished a Master's degree, and worked his butt off to become a premiere defensive back in the NFL. I think it's fine to consider what he said to be classless, but to call him a punk for one quote? It seems to me we all succumb to "soundbite judgement" too often.

Even though he continued to call Crabtree a "mediocre receiver" in the press conference well after the game? Professionalism and humility are dead in this country when guys like him get people running to defend him based on his "merits" as a person. Only a total moron would say that he's a bad person based on what he did...I just think that he has a lot of growing up to do, and he needs to realize that there are tons of kids out there watching him act like an idiot just because he accomplished something.

Let's put it this way - I'm unemployed. I did really, really well in school, never got in trouble, and I've worked hard to get to the point in my life where I am employable in numerous different capacities. So when I get a job, should I call up all of the other applicants and tell them that they shouldn't have bothered competing with the best and that they're no better than mediocre? Then should I throw the "choke" sign up at them just for good measure? That's a lack of professionalism and humility - and that's the sort of thing I don't want to see in a professional athlete. Call it a completely separate circumstance if you want...but it's not - society values what it values and deems what's appropriate...and whether you clean toilets for a living or play a professional sport, doing your job with a little bit of humility/professionalism while still having fun should be a top priority. It has nothing to do with a person in terms of their achievements...it's all about how you convey yourself.

Yeah, there really is. Because Qb's only throw the ball his way a few times a game. Becauses he's the best there is. And he listens to little nothings like Crabbaby trash talk him all game. So he has lots and lots of time, and is qualified to back it up.

The ways people stand-up for Richard Sherman is unbelievable to me. I hope people that take his back on being a tool after the game on Sunday conduct themselves the same way in their lives because at least that would make sense to me.

1) He apologized today for acting immaturely after the game, so whatever you're backing up, even he admits it was wrong of him.
2) Everyone trash talks each other in football. Didn't stop Antoine Winfield from being an incredible cornerback his entire career and an even better professional.
3) I'll just leave this here (1 of 2 receiving TDs from this guy that game against your man Sherman). The best in the game got torched by Jarius Wright. Just saying...:

Well, when you put someone mediocre like Sherman on Jarius Wright, that's what your gonna get!

So trash talking is fine by you guys, on a board, with no talent, but not by Sherman, after a perfect game? Gotcha.

I was making a joke (one that I thought was fairly obvious - Wright is not more talented than Sherman at their respective positions.)

I know you were, Thatguy with his 'just sayin' comment was making an attempt at trash talking. It goes on all over. Esp. in sports, in bars, on the field, etc.

And I still think Sherman has more class then JA shows.

lol it's not trash talking. I was just pointing out a fact. If "Crabbaby" is a "little nothing," then what does that make Jarius Wright? Quite frankly, I don't care what you think about class if you're gonna stand up for actions that even Sherman said were foolish.
