Bad throw by Ponder, worse call By Fraizer to not put Cassel in for that throw.

And like someone else mentioned ... the Vikings had seven men in blocking and only three WRs downfield for the Hail Mary. Against a prevent defense.

Yeah, they should have put in Joe Webb or Matt Cassel to chuck that ball into the end zone. One of the more pathetic Hail Marys that you'll ever see.

I don't understand why they didn't put Cassel or Webb in for the Hail Mary. Don't they know how far he can throw? To me it's another example of how clueless our coaching staff can be.

That's because he got sacked vs Cleveland in a similar situation lol. They figured since Ponder hangs onto the ball so long he needs all the protection he can get even on a 3 man rush hail mary.

Man that play is even worse than I remember. He was trying to hit Wright in stride and missed that bad. This pass is worse than his bad miss to wide open AD at Lambeau last year. Give him a few more starts, I think he can get it fixed.

Look on the bright side. Fraizer already announced Ponder will be the starter against Washington on Thursday night as well.

you would think they woulda tried that strategy on the play prior to maybe set up a far closer last pass. The chances of a hail mary working out anyway is pretty low. But ultimately even Tom Brady woulda been hard pressed to lead that winning TD drive with ~ 45 secs left. This game was blown by the D.Coordinator and his playcalling on the last drive. I think probably for the first time this season we played up to our potential on both sides (unfortunately this is as good as we are, there are no two ways about it).

Are we sure it isn't our HC that is exhibiting concussion-like symptoms? It could explain some of his decisions......

What's funny is that he didn't even really step into the throw. Most QB's would drop back 7 to 10 steps to allow a 2 step forward step into the pass. He almost threw it flat footed.

Are you trying to defend Ponder's attempt at a throw? Or Fraizer for not putting Cassel in to get the ball to the end zone? We all know the D sucks. I'm talking about this play.

I had mentioned it earlier. Pretty ridiculous, Dallas has Dez Bryant playing center field and the vikings in a formation like it's going to be an all out blitz. They should have had Webb out there, big guy who can go up and get the ball. Guess it didnt matter in the end, doesn't matter how many receivers you have down field if you can't get the ball in the endzone.

Its just sad, whenever it comes down to real strategy, this coaching staff fails. Maximum protection, and they had to know Ponder couldn't throw that far. Its time to end this farce.
