The crowd did sound like it was pulling for the Vikings there, and I saw a lot of purple banners waving.

Funny you should say that, on the opening drive they seemed rather quiet but were loudest during the PAT. Soccer fans love the kicking game xD.

Me too. Whenever the Vikes made a good play, the far majority of fans sitting close to the field were cheering. Maybe they were just Euros enjoying entertaining plays.

There we definitely more Vikings fans there. When I got there I was quite surprised. Such a great atmosphere, first time seeing the vikings live and I got to see 2 AD touchdowns AND a win. I think you have got to give us more credit, the majority of fans there were definitely NFL fans. I was sitting next to a German Browns fan who was wearing his Tim Couch jersey who was going bonkers because the Steelers were losing and the Browns were beating the Bengals. My god could he drink

As for the way we cheer, I think it's all to do with the sports we watch here in Europe, Soccer and Rugby, where the cheering is done mainly on scores, and the occasional chant/song, the games are more free flowing so we don't get a chance to shout "De-Fence" and the likes, because in a heartbeat possession switches. We got more into the "American" way of cheering as the game went on though, as the drinks were flowing  I also think a lot of it had to do with that there were fans from all the teams, so whenever a big play happened everyone just cheered anyway, was a great spectacle.

I never saw so many different jerseys in one stadium, from TV of course, I wasn't there.

I had two emotions going before the game. 1 I was finally going to see my vikings live, 2. Worried about how the neutral fans would react. Turns out I'd not have needed to worry, I would say apart from steelers fans, everyone was pulling for the home team.
My experience was fantastic. I was sat between my buddy (a huge packers fan) and a steeler fan from Cincinnati. We had a great time, especially as everyone had good knowledge of the game. Plus he managed to keep up with our drinking (12 beers in the stadium). There were exceptions, some uk fans made me mad. The cream of the crop being some dude with a packers jersey and a bears cap on! Errrr conflicting!

It was an incredible experience that had a bit of everything.

Just quietly, is gene symonds rendition of your national anthem one of the best ever? Usually its some screechy r'n'b warbler. Top effort

The national anthem wasn't anything special, Gene Simmons isn't really a singer as much as a showman.

Having been in England for a "fortnight" this July, I'm so jealous of those who went to the game. I really loved visiting that country. It would be uber-cool if England would embrace the Vikings -- almost worth giving up a home game every year.
