After the clinic that Peyton and Broncos put on last night I decided to watch some of Ponder's performance from Sunday, just for comparison sake Afterward I felt like I needed a bath

I was going to post something here about 5-6 man fronts VS 8-9 man fronts, pocket presence, accuracy, decision making, offensive creativity but why bother Watching Ponder and the Vikings offense right after watching Manning and the Broncos was like the difference between my daughters 1st grade play and Broadway theater. Seriously. We don't belong in the same league.

I know this is not news to anybody here but how does Denver bring in a new coach, new coordinators all around and put together a juggernaut while our staff struggles just to find an identity? Even with the most dominant single player in the entire NFL?

Peyton is more dominant than AP. By its nature the QB position can dominate much more than RB ever will anymore. Those thinking otherwise must be Bears from the 80's. Oh wait; it didn't work even then. It wasn't uintil the Bears got a QB that Walter Payton won a SB.

I agree that QB is a position more capable of single handedly taking over a game but Peyton, Rodgers, Brees, Brady and a couple others are all similarly excellent. AP is in a league of his own. That's all I was trying to get at.

They went 13-3 and one and done with Manning, but the year before that they beat the steelers in the playoffs with tim tebow. Mannings an above average QB but he's on a stacked Denver team and couldn't get past their first opponent in the playoffs because his arm melted down after week 14. He doesn't have much left in the tank but he still makes Ponder look sad out there with his brain hahah.

I think Pete Prisco said it last night on Twitter...

"Manning doesn't beat you with his arm. Beats you with his brain".

His arm last night looked incredible. Accuracy was A+++, literally hitting every receiver regardless of coverage exactly where he had to. And his velocity was great, hard when it needed to be, touch when it needed to be. It made me sad.

If you ever look at the replays he does did to throw "ugly good passes". The WR screen to Welker that got stuffed at the two probably could have been a TD if the throw was tighter. Look at some of the deep balls he throws too...kind of wobbly. I'd still trade our whole team for him though.

I wouldn't trade the whole team. He wouldn't look so good playing 1-on-11.

Every screen pass wobbles, you can't exactly throw a tight spiral 10 feet.

He may have wobbled a long ball or two but, dear lord what I wouldn't give to see that kind of accuracy out of any Vikings QB. It didn't matter how tight the coverage was, he put it in a spot where it could be caught easily and could not be picked off. Hence the 0 ints on the season in spite of throwing 122 passes. And his 134 passer rating on the season isn't too shabby either.

A half-decent defense, half-decent offensive line, half-decent running backs, half-decent receivers, and the best QB who's ever played the game.

It's not a difficult equation.

So, according to your theory, the Vikings are just a great QB away from being a superbowl favorite?
