Marvin Mitchell hasn't played much, with as often as the Vikings have been in nickel formations. Audio Cole's tackle must have come on special teams. Kevin Williams, of course, has only played one game. Everson Griffen is used mostly on passing downs at DT, or to spell Brian Robison, maybe a couple plays subbing for Jared Allen. He's not going to have many tackles in passing situations. (Is he still one of the gunners on the punt coverage team?).

Fred Evans numbers look decent, but the overall lack of tackles by the defensive tackles is a concern. Not really surprising, though, given the problems the defense seems to be having with the run.

Don't know if it makes a lot of sense to have Sharrif Floyd and Williams playing side by side, given the effectiveness of Fred Evans. And I'm starting to have concerns Floyd. I hope he shows us something by the time the season ends.

Hey, John Carlson is leading the offense in tackles. That's cool........it's one of those intangible thingies you hope to get from guys.

Hey when they decided to get more aggressive with Ponder this year they figured they'd need a good solid tackler on offense. Haha sorry I couldn't resist.

I saw Floyd playing a little nose tackle against Detroit and from what I've seen, Nose Tackle may not be his strong future. I remember Alan Williams said at a press conference during training camp, "Just because you can play nose doesn't mean you can play 3 technique, and just because you're a good 3 technique doesn't mean you can play nose." And he's right, Floyd is a pure 3 technique DT, and I wouldn't put him at nose unless he was the last resort.

I'm not sure anyone's mentioned it yet, but the Vikings as a _team_ are on pace for 8.0 sacks this season. Booyah!

Hmmm... is there a stat for missed tackles?

The cover 0 scheme doesn't buy the front 4 any time to rush the QB. Plus our ineffective blitzing isn't helping. Seriously we have to be the worst blitzing team I've ever seen. Always late and can never find a gap.

No doubt about it, we are the worst blitzing team. Ever. When they blitz, it right into someone. I miss the corner blitz with Winfield.
