Banks Snaps: 2012 surprises underachieving in 2013

The Redskins, Colts and Vikings were all playoff teams a year ago, and the kind of feel-good stories few saw coming. But that was then, this is now and there's little about 2013 that's giving anyone goose bumps so far. Washington and Minnesota are a disheartening 0-2 (none of the 12 playoff teams last season lost their first two games), and Indianapolis lost 24-20 at home against Miami on Sunday, dropping to 1-1 after last week's narrow escape at home against Oakland.

As bad as we have looked, I guess it could be worse. RGIII looks nowhere near the QB he was last season. I think he was rushed back way too quickly. Eli Manning and the Giants look completely outmatched on the field. The Buccaneers are showing that money cannot buy a championship. The Browns still look like the Browns. And Jacksonville? Boy, they may have the potential to go 0-16 if they keep it up.
Like the old saying goes - misery loves company. Sure it sucks to be 0-2, but at least we aren't the only team. Maybe Pittsburgh/Cincinnati will be joining us after tonight as well.

Maybe? Unless they tie, one or the other will be joining.

Pretty sure it'll be Pittsburgh, either way we play both of um so it's nice to see those games look a lot easier then was expected.

Giants have elite WRs with zero ground game. I feel like letting Bradshaw go is going to hurt them

If pittsburgh loses tonight as I suspect they will, our next 4 games will be against currently winless teams. If there's anytime to get this ship turned around, the next 4 games are it. Some positive momentum going into lambeau would go a long way

Yeah, wow, I actually didn't realize both NYG and CAR were 0-2 as well. So much for the hardest schedule in the NFL, outside of GB at GB and at SEA none of those look all that bad anymore.

If that happens, I doubt you'll see much positivity. But it hasn't happened, and as disheartening as these first two games were, I think it's unlikely to believe that we will lose 3/4

Then again, they are probably saying the same thing about us.

Well here's the thing. Banks can say what he wants. Two games does not make a season. How many playoff teams are 1-1? Green Bay, San Fran, Baltimore, Atlanta. But they get the pass. All of which have had a least one home game, and none of which have played two division games. I'll wait a few more weeks before I start passing judgment on which teams from the playoffs last year are not going to make it this year.
