I think he still has a lot left in him, he'll be strong to finish out his career.

More consistent than percy harvin, better leader, more dependable, bigger, better route runner.

Jennings does not make up for the loss of Harvin and I don't think he should be expected to, because they're two different players.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the signing of Jennings as a legitimate wide out. I'm glad the team has Jarius Wright as well. The WR corps still needs work, though.
A couple good draft picks would help a lot, especially for the future.

I went with option number one, not because I dont think Jennings is a great player (he is) but I dont think Ponder's ability will help him get the numbers he did in GB.

As an optimist, I selected the second to last option. Providing he stays healthy, Jennings can become a reliable threat and it is viable that his greatest seasons are yet to come.
Obviously you can't be too skeptical as of yet because it boils down to how he is utilised and how successful we are at ensuring the ball is delivered to his hands. Snap up a versatile compliment, in the mold of Percy (Allen, Austin?) from the draft and his production will undoubtedly increase.

I voted that he'd have a good run as a Viking. I've been a fan of Jennings since his college days and I think he'll be a great addition to the team.
You and I don't always see eye to eye but I think you described the benefits Jennings should bring to the offense very well and I agree that he should be good for Ponder's development. I also agree with you and Craig that Jennings and Harvin are very different players. Asked about quarterback Christian Ponder's inconsistent career, Jennings said in part: "What I've seen on film, he didn't have a lot of options to go to. No disrespect to the guys he was throwing the ball to, but you can get the sense that he needed a little more around him to get some help." I can't argue with that well-spoken but blunt assessment. We all agree that great quarterbacks can elevate receivers, but opinions are split on whether great receivers can improve a quarterback. My take: Ponder has no shot without a credible group of receivers. So by default, Jennings will help him.

Someone on KFAN said last night that after he signed the deal, he went around and gave everyone in the FO a big hug. I thought that was kind of cool.

As special as Percy is, I believe the Vikings, due to style issues and our QB, will be a better team with Jennings than with Harvin. And what's great is that we're paying Jennings less than what Percy is making in Seattle which is basically what he would've cost had we extended him. I'd like to think his injuries the past couple years were somewhat cumulative and he's now 100% healthy. And assuming he avoids an injury bug I think Jennings will have a long and successful second half of his career and play his full contract with us if not more. Assuming he stays healthy, Jennings is the best WR we've had since Randy Moss and by the time he's done he's going to be looked at in the upper echelon of great Viking receivers like the Carters, Moss, Rashad, etc.
