Concerning....

John Sullivan - C - Vikings

Two NFL sources tell ESPN 1500 Twin Cities Vikings C John Sullivan underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee last week.

According to beat writer Tom Pelissero, Sullivan's surgery was "relatively minor" compared to normal microfracture operations, and there's "no doubts" he'll be ready for the regular season. Sullivan is tentatively expected to require 3-4 months of rehabilitation. Players are often never the same after undergoing microfracture surgery, while setbacks are common. It doesn't appear the concern level is very high with Sullivan, however. Entering season two of a six-year, $25.6 million, Sullivan was Pro Football Focus' top rated center in 2012, and a beast of a run blocker as Adrian Peterson came within yards of setting the single-season record.

Rather have him get surgery than not I suppose. I bet he'll be alright!

Thanks for the info. Hopefully, Sullivan won't experience any difficult setbacks and will be back at 100% next season.

Precisely, get the surgery out of the way during down time and have him fully fit for the season. Hopefully it won't be a lingering issue, all world centre IMO.

I'm just nervous about a setback and the fact that he's rehabbing instead of training. Hopefully he'll be full speed and setback-free by the time camp opens.

Agreed, as they say these days, the football season never ends, can't possibly have too much preparation. Fingers crossed for all to go smoothly.
