I would vote yes to that.
I think it is a no brainer even considering giving up the 1st rounder.

I think that would be awesome if we got him. Hes young, fast, good hands, and can also be a deep threat.

You also have to remember not only are you giving up a 1st round pick but you're also paying a huge contract.
He's under his rookie contract at the moment IIRC. I think we should at least TRY

If we keep Harvin we just gotta. We can afford to cut some of the fat from our team and let a guy like Aromashodu and Simpson walk

He wouldn't be under his rookie contract if he becomes a restricted free agent. Assuming the Giants place a first round tender on him, he'd cost the Vikes a first round pick and they'd have to sign him to a new deal.

And they would have to sign Harvin to at least as goos of a deal.
Hmmm ... Draft pick seeming more and more appealing :p

I think Cruz is better than any draft pick. He is in my opinion one of the best WR's in the league. If signing him means giving away a first round draft pick, id be fine with that. As long as it doesn't break the bank, of course.

OFC, this is one of those no brainers. Sounds too good too be true if the Vikes got this kinda FA so it wont happen.

Very true. It would be very rare that this would happen.

Meh, count me out.
First, you have to give up a first round pick. I know the draft is a crap shoot, but there could potentially be a great player available or you could trade the pick and gather more draft picks.
Second, you have to pay Cruz a very expensive deal. If Cruz can get a big deal, why cannot Harvin get a big deal. I also don't see situation where Minnesota would pay both Harvin and Cruz similarly.
Cruz is very talented. However, I feel he is more taylor-made for the Giants offense. I cannot help but envision him becoming a bust here.

A 1st for a proven talent? Take that any day. Draft is a huge crap shoot, and even if we get it right we're looking at Cruz level talent.
The contract will hurt, but would give us some leeway trading Harvin so that could work out, we'd have to pay him anyway. I'll take paying Cruz over paying Harvin, guy has issues the way it is, strikes me as the type that would decide to rest on his laurels once he has the money.
Won't happen, but we can dream!!!

He'd be a little crazy to come to Minnesota, given the QB situation. I can't see the Vikings outbidding every other interested team for his services. Too early in their rebuilding, while still missing key pieces that could turn a move like that into a major blunder.
