I'm not generally a Boise-basher, but in this case I will. While it's true that some of that 50 is against some tough competition (including Georgia and TCU this year), there are a ton of easy wins in there, especially compared to what McCoy faced in the Big 12.

I'm from Boise and i have had this debate over and over again. I do not think Moore is anything compared to Luck, Jones, or Griffin. But the one thing you have to realize about his stats is that majority of his games he played one or maybe two series in the fourth or didn't play the fourth at all. Now imagin if he got to play every quarter his stats would be off the charts. His stats care skewed because of his opponents but only three schools scouted him and look at what he did from that. Moore is technically sound and very smart. Yes he lacks some of the physical tools that would make him a higher pick. I see him bein a career backup maybe getting a few chances here and there.

I'd give Moore a shot, not anywhere near the early rounds, but towards the end or a FA. I think he could be a decent backup QB.

Im not familiar with him at all, but they were discussing him on ESPN the other day, said he will probably be the steal of the draft. They thought he would have the potential to perform as well as any QB in this draft, while being selected late (5-7th round).

Waste of a pick. But he's a midget with questionable arm strength so apparently he's exactly what this team would want in a quarterback.

What about the kid from Houston that broke all the records this year, Keenum? I know it's the system he's in but he might be worth a flier if he's projected as a late rounder.

Im sure the Vikings can just order up an Aaron Rodgers, or Brees. But I doubt you'd want either of them on the Vikings anyways, Rodgers is only 6-2, but he was drafted in the 20s, WAY too late in the 1st round to find a good player, he is just a "leftover". And Brees is just too short to play, period.

If he's still around in the 7th he may be worth a shot, but he reminds me a lot of Graham Harrell from Texas Tech, who is on the Packers now. Gaudy stats but was in a spread offense that threw the ball almost every down. He also tore his ACL week 1 last year and this year was his sixth year of eligibility thanks to a medical redshirt.

Cling to your two examples. I'll stick with the two dozen other successful QBs over 6'2. Maybe go to a casino and bet on those odds while you're at it. We'll see who's up more at the end of the night.

Good thing youre not in charge of the Vikings drafting. Height being your biggest concern for a QB meshes with how the Vikings think. Who cares if a DB can cover, as long as he can tackle, draft him. Who cares if a QB cant play, if he is tall, he is in! Makes perfect sense.

huh? No, they haven't drafted or acquired a QB other than Webb (WR Webb!) over 6'2 since Childress was hired. So clearly it doesn't.

And the whole idea is the same as a tackling corner. You get a corner who is quick and explosive enough and work on what you can. You draft a QB who has the physical attributes and try and coach them along with their abilities. You don't bring in tackling corners and midget QBs and expect to have any success....

Of course it isn't. The only necessity is that you're capable of throwing the ball. But for every one shorter QB you name that had some meaningful success, I can name a half dozen that were closer to 6'4. And if you're going to go with a QB, you shouldn't pick one based on "Well, in this rare case they had success", you try and minimize as much as you can. And it's clear being a taller QB has certain advantages.
