Kevin Skinner wins? What the ....
Seriously, two or three guys a night at karaoke sing better than he does. Skinner is not a good singer. His "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" was the worst rendition I have heard in the last five years.
Both Lawrence Beaman and Barbara Padilla have better voices and outperformed him in every way. Recycled Percussion had the best show.
Imagine how many years and how hard the Fab Five worked just to get beat out by a guy who can't sing worth a darn. It is a joke that isn't funny.

That's why I don't watch those shows anymore. I believe they are somewhat setup. Ever since Chris Daughtry lost on American Idol, I don't believe they are legit. It isn't that Daughtry lost so much as who he lost to. Although i think it has worked out better for him in the long run, it still irritates me. He was the best singer that season bar none, it certainly wasn't Taylor Hicks.
Anyhoo, I'm done with those shows because the truly talented individuals are never the winners.

I'm submitting a complaint against you both to the Man Committee. Be prepared to defend your Man Cards for watching such crap.

I said Recycled Percussion had the best show.

This is actually the first time I have watched one of these kind of shows through a whole season. Because Big Bang Theory and a few other shows I watch are in reruns and on other nights, I was able to watch this season of America's Got Talent. I was hoping it would be better than American Idol, which I have not watched more than a few shows.
There were about three or four acts that my wife and I thought could win this, but it was won by a guy with little talent at anything but having a sad luck story to tell. He was the least talented out of any act in the top ten for certain, and there were acts that didn't make the top ten that were better. Of course, it is a show with fan voting, and fan voting often gets strange results.

The funny thing about Kevin Skinner is that my best friend knew him growing up. He played in a band with her step father and she had a huge crush on him when she was about 14. The thing about being a "chicken catcher" is total garbage lol
His very first performance was the best and it was all downhill from there. Even being from Mayfield Kentucky herself and personally knowing Kevin ... she was horrified that he won with that version of "Don't wanna miss a thing". We all agreed it was horrible.

Yeah, the fan voting is what did it, IMO.
People are all over a "average everyday working guy who makes it big" story. It's the same thing Brett Favre is marketed as ... it's why he's so popular.
I don't think Kevin is untalented. Especially the first song he played "If tomorrow never comes" was done very very well.
Though to be perfectly honest ... I didn't watch the show ... lol ... we pretty much just skipped over everything and just watched him because of the personal connection. We did watch all of the final though and we agreed he shouldn't have won.

Silly. America doesn't have talent. The best it can do is rip off 80s crap nowadays. I don't think America has had a whole lot of musical talent for going on 20 years.
I think the next stage is America's Next Top Rapper or whatever, at which point I think I'll hurl. Oooooooooh, which person can autotune about their "swagg" the best over a lousy sample and lame drum machine? 50 bucks on the scrappy white guy.
